Who's Hiring

Physical Therapy Assistant Jobs in Portland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physical therapy assistant job in Portland?
Focus your search on Portland's outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, which hire the most physical therapy assistants in the area, along with the large hospital systems anchored in the Lloyd District and Southwest Portland. Candidates who hold a current Oregon PTA license and have hands-on experience with post-surgical or neurological patients move through hiring faster. Applying directly to multi-location rehab groups with Portland-area offices also gives you an edge over candidates chasing individual postings.
Which companies hire physical therapy assistants in Portland?
Portland physical therapy assistant roles are posted by Providence, Kaiser Permanente, and HiredFirst and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market is a mix of large regional health systems, independent outpatient rehab clinics, and long-term care facilities spread across inner Portland and the surrounding metro.
Are there remote physical therapy assistant jobs in Portland?
Yes, but only in a narrow slice of the role, since physical therapy assistant work is almost entirely hands-on and requires in-person patient contact. About 0% of physical therapy assistant openings tied to Portland are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those postings are typically administrative, care-coordination, or telehealth-support positions rather than direct clinical roles.
How can I get a physical therapy assistant job in Portland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Portland is landing a rehab aide or therapy technician role at one of the city's outpatient orthopedic clinics or skilled nursing facilities, which regularly hire candidates who are newly licensed or still completing clinical hours. Portland-area community health centers and smaller independent practices are also more likely to consider new graduates than large hospital systems. Having completed clinical rotations at a recognized Oregon program and being willing to work in the outer eastside or Gresham corridor, where demand is steady and competition is lower, gives applicants a concrete advantage.
