INTRODUCTION
As an Power Engineer a typical day might include:
- Further developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
- Assisting in the development of product specifications.
- Developing and analyzing functional tests.
- Assisting with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
- Providing power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
- Assisting with the writing and reviewing innovative power system protection solutions to present at technical meetings and conferences.
- Modeling, teaching and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

This job might be for you if:
- You have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
- You possess 2+ years of experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.
- You have the ability and passion to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- You have working knowledge of substation apparatus and protective relay applications at electrical utilities or industrial facilities.
- You have excellent technical training skills.
- You possess strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
- You work well in a highly collaborative team environment.
You may be a stronger fit for this position if you:
- Have working knowledge of SEL products.
- You have experience in power system modeling and using EMTP.
- Experience in MATLAB® and/or Python programming.
COMPENSATION
- Pay Range Data: $97,700 - $144,400 annually.
We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
