We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and qualified Ga Pre-K Assistant Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. In this role, you will work alongside a Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and high-quality learning environment that prepares our students for kindergarten in accordance with the guidelines of Georgia's Pre-K Program.
Salary & Compensation
- Minimum Base Salary: $25,741.35 per year (100% of the total salary funded by DECAL is guaranteed).
- Note: Actual compensation may vary based on the specific number of days and hours worked, as well as provider-specific benefits.
Required Credentials & Qualifications
To qualify for this position under Georgia's state regulations, candidates must hold at least one of the following credentials or degrees:
- Valid Paraprofessional Certificate (Issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission - GaPSC)
- Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (Issued by the Council for Professional Recognition. Note: Must be valid and within its 3-year active window or renewed lifecycle)
- Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education
- Technical College Diploma (TCD) in Early Childhood Education
- Associate Degree (AA, AS, AAS, or AAT)
- Montessori Diploma (Courses must be completed through an accredited affiliate of the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education [MACTE])
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS)
- Georgia PSC Certified Teacher
- Master's Degree (MA or MS), Specialist Degree, or PhD
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the approved Georgia Pre-K curriculum and managing daily classroom operations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Help track student progress and maintain required classroom documentation.
- Supervise children during transitions, meals, outdoor play, and rest time to ensure their safety at all times.
- Engage with parents and families in a professional, welcoming manner.
