How do you become a procurement assistant in Arkansas?
Most procurement assistant roles in Arkansas require at minimum an associate degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field, though many employers prefer a bachelor's degree. Candidates strengthen their standing by earning credentials such as the Certified Professional in Supply Management or Certified Purchasing Professional through nationally recognized bodies, which Arkansas employers in healthcare, state government, and retail actively recognize when evaluating candidates.
Which companies hire procurement assistants in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring procurement assistants in Arkansas include Walmart, J.B. Hunt, and Suzano, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of large retail headquarters, hospital systems, and state agencies means procurement assistant demand is spread across both corporate and public-sector employers throughout the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most procurement assistant jobs?
Bentonville, Lowell, and El Dorado account for the largest concentration of procurement assistant openings in Arkansas. Little Rock draws demand from state government agencies and healthcare institutions, while the Bentonville and Fayetteville corridor reflects the purchasing and supply chain infrastructure built around Walmart's global headquarters and its dense network of supplier offices in northwest Arkansas.

Yes, and they are more common than in many comparable roles. About 50% of procurement assistant openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of much of the work. Vendor communication, purchase order processing, and contract tracking are the functions most likely to be performed fully remotely, while roles involving on-site receiving, inventory checks, or in-person vendor meetings tend to remain in-office.
How can I get hired as a procurement assistant in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for administrative or operations coordinator roles at large Arkansas employers such as Walmart, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, or state agencies through the Arkansas Department of Transformation and Shared Services, which regularly posts entry-level positions that include purchasing support duties.
