Coordinates and implements patient safety and quality improvement (PSQI) activities for a designated service.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works in partnership with department PSQI leadership to develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans of patient safety and quality outcomes in a division. The strategic plans in the division will align with overall vision of departmental patient safety and quality outcome standards.
- Coordinates data collection and tracking of patient safety and clinical effectiveness. This includes the management, implementation, analysis, and presenting results of quality improvement projects. Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other patient care team members to promote a culture of safety and enhance clinical effectiveness.
- Reviews available quality and patient safety data to identify area of high risk for deviation from standards and coordinates with the clinical care team and assists to develop plans for quality improvement.
- Participates in Patient Safety and Quality meetings, including division and departmental meetings. Works collaboratively with other patient safety, quality, and performance improvement professionals, sharing best practices.
- Provides staff education to nurses, physicians, health staff, and other clinical departments regarding conce Research Management System (RMS) of improving patient safety and quality outcomes in the division.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
- Current Missouri and/or Illinois RN licensure depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements)

$64,500.00 - $109,900.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
