Entry Level Production Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level production engineer job?
Focus on demonstrating hands-on experience through internships, co-ops, or capstone projects that show you can work in a manufacturing or production environment. Employers at this level look for familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, quality control basics, and process documentation. A resume that highlights specific projects, measurable outcomes, and relevant coursework gives you a clear edge over candidates with a generic application.
Which companies hire entry level production engineers?
Companies hiring entry level production engineers right now include ASML, Meta, and SpaceX, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large manufacturers, consumer goods companies, and industrial firms that maintain structured new-grad and rotational engineering programs.
Are there remote entry level production engineer jobs?
Yes, though most production engineer roles are on-site by nature given the hands-on work involved. About 5% of entry level production engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to focus on process analysis, documentation, or quality systems work that can be done off the production floor.
Are these new grad production engineer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior production engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward the requirement, or explicitly invites candidates to apply with a portfolio of academic or project work instead of a full professional history.
Which industries hire the most entry level production engineers?
Entry Level production engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Chemicals & Materials, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because their production lines and manufacturing operations require a steady pipeline of junior engineers to support process improvement, output targets, and quality standards.
