Position Summary
The Production Crew Lead is responsible for developing employees by providing leadership, direction, and support to ensure completion of the daily production schedule, while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate and understand daily Production schedule.
- Assist production supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the shift.
- Monitor all product blends to ensure proper yields and quality standards.
- Ensure the execution of all approved raw product deviations.
- Communicate all raw product and quality issues/concerns to the proper personnel.
- Ensure that all production lines are properly staffed based on the cost/labor standards for each item produced.
- Ensure that all team members comply with all Safety, Quality and GMP requirements.
- Ensure compliance of all process controls in order to maximize efficiency and throughput while minimizing product waste.
- Ensure that all end of shift processes and procedures are followed.
- Maintain, complete and ensure that daily paperwork is complete with all specified documentation and reconciliation.
- Assist in performing training when required and ensuring employee competency.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
- Must be able to meet daily production standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to assume the role of the production supervisor in their absence.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate throughout the organization in written and verbal form.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate and mentor all production leads.
- Must pass drug test and background check.
- Ability to facilitate, lead and train individuals on continuous improvement initiatives and process improvement changes. Lead Kaizen events and SMED exercises. Implement new policies and procedural changes.
Required Education and Experience
- Basis understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese.
- Crew lead experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Working Conditions
Production plant environment with some business office.
