How do I get an entry level production technician job?
Focus on hands-on experience you already have, whether from a technical program, internship, or lab coursework, and highlight it clearly on your resume. Employers at this level look for familiarity with basic equipment operation, attention to detail, and a willingness to follow documented procedures. Yes, though most production technician work is hands-on and facility-based. About 2% of entry level production technician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles tend to involve quality documentation, data entry, or process monitoring rather than direct equipment operation. Candidates open to on-site work will find significantly more openings overall.
