Mid Level Production Technician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level production technician job?
Position your experience around ownership and outcomes, not just task completion. Highlight specific processes you have managed independently, equipment you are certified on, and any quality or efficiency improvements you drove. Employers at this level want to see that you can troubleshoot without escalating every issue, so frame your resume and interviews around decisions you made and the results that followed.
Which companies hire mid level production technicians?
Companies hiring mid level production technicians right now include Ruppert Landscape, ABB, and Jabil, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of large manufacturers, contract production facilities, and growing industrial operations that need technicians who can work with limited supervision.
Are there remote mid level production technician jobs?
Yes, though most production technician work is hands-on and site-dependent. About 2% of mid level production technician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles typically involve quality documentation, process coordination, or technical support functions rather than direct equipment operation.
How do I move up to a mid level production technician role?
Moving into a mid level role requires building depth beyond executing assigned tasks. Over your first few years, focus on mastering a wider range of equipment and processes, taking on projects that require you to diagnose and resolve problems independently, and demonstrating measurable impact such as reduced downtime or improved yield. Consistent ownership of outcomes is what distinguishes a mid level technician from an entry level one.
