Position Summary

The Project Engineer provides administrative and project coordination support to Project Managers and assigned project teams.

This role is focused on project documentation, communication, organization, tracking, and follow-up. Previous mechanical construction experience is not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and coordination support to Project Managers and assigned project teams.
• Assist with project setup and maintain organized electronic and paper project files and records.
• Prepare, track, distribute, and maintain project documentation and correspondence.
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, transmittals, logs, and other project-related documentation.
• Help prepare, process, and track purchase orders, material requests, and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, customers, field personnel, and internal departments as directed by the Project Manager.
• Assist with meeting preparation, meeting notes, action item tracking, and project follow-up.
• Track outstanding project items, due dates, documentation, and required responses.
• Assist with change order documentation, project cost information, and supporting records.
• Maintain accurate project information in company systems, spreadsheets, logs, and reports.
• Assist with scheduling, coordination, and communication of project activities as requested.
• Support project closeout by organizing required documents, outstanding items, and final records.
• Support multiple Project Managers and projects while maintaining accuracy and timely follow-through.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and follow through on multiple open items.
• Comfort working with spreadsheets, documents, electronic records, and project tracking systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes, systems, and construction terminology.
• Previous administrative, project coordination, office, or construction experience preferred, but not required.
• Education in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
• Mechanical construction experience is not required.
