Job Brief:

A Network Engineer (Project Specialist) designs, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots secure and reliable network environments for Jolt Technology's managed IT clients. This role takes ownership of network-related issues from diagnosis through resolution and supports office moves, infrastructure upgrades, and new-site deployments. The Network Engineer works primarily with business grade network technologies while also assisting with conference room, audiovisual, and other related technology installations.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure, reliable networks for small and mid-sized businesses.
• Install and configure firewalls, switches, wireless access points, routers, and related network equipment.
• Configure and support SonicWall firewalls, including access rules, NAT policies, VPNs, VLANs, routing, security services, failover, and high availability.
• Install, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot switching and wireless environments.
• Support and deploy other network supported equipment (UPS, PDU, PBX, etc).
• Diagnose outages, intermittent connectivity, latency, packet loss, wireless coverage, and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLAN, switching, routing, VPN, firewall, and ISP-related issues.
• Perform wireless assessments and identify interference, signal-strength, coverage, and capacity concerns.
• Assist with network refreshes, office moves, new-site deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Coordinate with internet service providers and third-party vendors to resolve connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot issues spanning servers, endpoints, cloud services, phones, security systems, and AV equipment.
• Assist with conference room, display, audio, video-conferencing, and related technology installations.
• Create and maintain accurate diagrams, configurations, credentials, equipment records, and client documentation.
• Communicate status, progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to clients and internal team members.
• Identify root causes, recommend long-term solutions, and escalate or collaborate when appropriate.
• Participate in occasional after-hours implementations or emergency support when necessary.
• Maintain client systems and perform systems administration tasks, including user management, server support, permissions, updates, backups, and routine system maintenance.
• Additional tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Three or more years of hands-on experience supporting business networks; MSP experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, VPNs, switching, routing, and wireless networking.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting business-grade firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
• Hands-on SonicWall and Ruckus experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently and methodically troubleshoot complex network and connectivity problems.
• Strong client-service mindset with clear communication for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Excellent documentation, organization, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tickets and projects while maintaining ownership through resolution.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, VoIP, structured cabling, or AV systems is beneficial
• Minimal after hours support.
• Network+, CCNA, SonicWall, Ruckus, or comparable certifications are preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client locations.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
