How do I get a project lead job in Tempe?
Focus your search on Tempe's technology services firms clustered near the ASU Research Park, the financial operations centers along the Rio Salado corridor, and the construction and infrastructure companies active throughout the East Valley. Candidates who can demonstrate end-to-end delivery experience on cross-functional teams stand out. Familiarity with agile or PMI-aligned methods and a portfolio of completed projects gives you a clear edge in Tempe's competitive but accessible market.
Which companies hire project leads in Tempe?
Companies currently hiring project leads in Tempe include Rosendin Electric, Jobot, and IES Communications, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tempe's employer base skews toward mid-size technology, financial services, and professional services firms, many of which maintain large project management functions tied to regional or national operations.
Are there remote project lead jobs in Tempe?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role type. Project lead positions tied to physical construction, facilities, or on-site operations are almost always in person, while software delivery and financial operations roles are far more remote-friendly. About 18% of project lead openings tied to Tempe are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Technology-sector roles based near the ASU Research Park tend to offer the most hybrid flexibility.
How can I get a project lead job in Tempe with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tempe is moving into a junior project coordinator or associate project manager role at one of the city's many mid-size technology or financial services firms, which regularly hire early-career candidates and promote from within. Companies in the Hayden Ferry and Tempe Town Lake areas often post coordinator roles that serve as direct pipelines to lead positions. Earning a CAPM credential and gaining hands-on experience through ASU-affiliated internships or nonprofit project work strengthens your profile considerably.
