Provider Relations Specialist Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a provider relations specialist in Idaho?
Most Idaho employers require a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field as the foundation for this role. Provider relations specialists in Idaho are not required to hold a state-issued license, but familiarity with Idaho Medicaid regulations administered by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is a strong advantage. Candidates who complete coursework or earn a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist credential tend to stand out in Idaho's competitive managed care market.
Which companies hire provider relations specialists in Idaho?
Idaho provider relations specialist roles are posted by State Farm, Suburban Propane, and Cascadia Services and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's concentrated payer and integrated health system market means a relatively small number of large organizations account for a significant share of ongoing openings.
Which Idaho cities have the most provider relations specialist jobs?
Boise, Rexburg, and Eagle have the most provider relations specialist openings in Idaho. Boise drives the largest share of demand as the state capital and home to the headquarters of major payers and health systems, while Idaho Falls and Pocatello support their own regional hospital networks and insurance operations that generate consistent openings in eastern Idaho.
Are there remote provider relations specialist jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and more than most healthcare roles, since provider relations work is primarily desk-based and communication-driven rather than hands-on clinical work. About 20% of provider relations specialist openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the broader shift among payers and managed care organizations toward distributed teams. Contract management and credentialing support functions are the most commonly offered in remote formats.
How can I get hired as a provider relations specialist in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a coordinator or administrative support role within a payer or health system, such as a provider enrollment coordinator or claims resolution associate at organizations like Blue Cross of Idaho or St. Luke's Health System. Idaho's Medicaid managed care contractors also hire entry-level provider services representatives who learn contract and network functions on the job. Completing a certified professional coder credential or a medical billing certificate through the College of Western Idaho strengthens early-career applications significantly.
Where can I find and apply to provider relations specialist jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to provider relations specialist jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current Idaho openings from health systems, payers, and managed care organizations across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty area, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
