Duties

• Conduct psychological assessments including diagnostic evaluations, behavioral health screenings, social-emotional student assessments, and special education assessments to identify student needs accurately.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health support, social skills development, and behavioral management for students with diverse needs.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, school staff, and external professionals to develop and implement effective intervention plans and support strategies tailored to each student’s unique requirements.
• Manage crisis situations through crisis intervention techniques, safety planning, conflict management, and crisis management protocols to ensure student safety at all times.
• Administer and interpret psychological testing and behavioral psychological assessments to inform educational planning and special education services such as IEP (Individualized Education Program) development.
• Support students with developmental disabilities and autism by implementing behavior management strategies, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and specialized interventions aligned with best practices in special education law.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation, records of psychological testing results, progress notes, and case management reports in compliance with confidentiality standards and legal requirements.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a school psychologist or in a similar educational setting supporting high school students.
• Demonstrated expertise in child & family counseling, crisis intervention, patient assessment, and behavioral health management.
• Strong background in conducting special education diagnostic testing, medical terminology related to mental health care, and working with individuals with disabilities including developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
• Familiarity with school psychology practices such as social-emotional assessments, behavior management for students with special needs, and collaboration on IEPs.
• Knowledge of applicable laws governing special education services (such as IDEA) and experience applying these laws in practice.
• Ability to perform comprehensive psychological testing including individual psychological assessments and behavioral evaluations that inform educational strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with families, educators, healthcare providers, and other professionals involved in student support.
