Entry Level QA Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level qa engineer job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on testing skills, even from coursework, bootcamps, or personal projects. Familiarity with manual testing, basic automation tools like Selenium or Postman, and bug-tracking systems such as Jira gives candidates a clear edge. A portfolio showing real test cases, defect reports, or a small automation script can make a stronger impression than years of experience alone.
Which companies hire entry level qa engineers?
Companies hiring entry level qa engineers right now include Sysco, Katalyst Healthcares & Life Sciences, and SGS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. A mix of large tech employers, growing startups, and enterprise software firms regularly open entry level QA roles as they build out their testing and quality assurance teams.
Are there remote entry level qa engineer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and team. About 15% of entry level qa engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making this one of the more accessible fields for candidates who prefer flexible work arrangements. Many fully on-site roles are also listed, so candidates can filter by their preferred setting when searching current openings.
Are these new grad qa engineer jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior qa engineer roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or academic project work in place of full-time history, or explicitly mentions entry level in the title or description. Candidates fresh out of a degree program, coding bootcamp, or self-study path regularly qualify.
Which industries hire the most entry level qa engineers?
Entry Level qa engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the entry level because they ship software at high volume and need testers who can support development teams as products are built, updated, and scaled.
