QA Engineer Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a qa engineer job in Tampa?
Focus your search on Tampa's Westshore Business District and downtown core, where healthtech firms, financial services companies, and defense contractors concentrate most of their QA hiring. Candidates with automation experience using tools like Selenium or Cypress stand out in this market. Targeting mid-size software shops in the University of South Florida research corridor also opens strong entry points alongside the larger enterprise employers.
Which companies hire qa engineers in Tampa?
Companies currently hiring qa engineers in Tampa include Heritage Insurance, PwC, and CMTS, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tampa's mix of regional insurers, healthcare technology platforms, and defense contractors means QA openings appear across both large enterprises and growth-stage software firms.
Are there remote qa engineer jobs in Tampa?
Yes, qa engineering is well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements since most testing, automation scripting, and bug tracking happens on a laptop without a physical requirement. About 60% of qa engineer openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly the local tech sector has adopted flexible work. Automation and performance testing roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility among Tampa postings.
How can I get a qa engineer job in Tampa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tampa is targeting junior QA analyst or QA technician roles at mid-size healthtech and insurtech firms, which tend to hire earlier-career candidates and provide structured mentorship. Building hands-on skills with free automation tools like Selenium and earning an ISTQB Foundation certificate strengthens any application. Tampa's growing University of South Florida-linked startup scene also offers contract and internship pathways that convert to full-time positions.
