Stryker is hiring for a QC Chemist II located in Cary, IL! The position of QC Chemist II is responsible for performing advanced analytical analysis of raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, finished goods, cleaning samples, as well as general laboratory support.
What you will do:
- Performs routine and non-routine analysis for raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, and finished goods.
- Responsible for conducting simple/complex data review.
- Executes Phase I, Phase II, and nonconformances. Applies fundamental concepts for problem solving. Leads basic root cause investigation events.
- Understands and follows regulatory requirements in their area of work, can explain basic concepts to extended teams.
- Responsible for simple instrument troubleshooting and vendor communication.
- Performs laboratory maintenance activities including but not limited to equipment preventative maintenance, calibration etc.
- Independently creates or approves records containing technical writing, including/not limited to NC/CAPA investigations and procedures. Provides basic feedback to record owners when acting as approver.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles within functional area with ability to identify projects/opportunities (e.g 6S).
- With guidance, lead in design/development of process/test methods.
- Working knowledge and ability to apply validation principles.
- Supports projects effectively, works within project timelines, develops plans for projects in area of responsibility.
- Constructs and deliver presentations in area of responsibility that convey a clear message, comfortable occasionally presenting in various forums, ability to articulate a clear message.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards.
- Demonstrates Stryker’s Leadership Expectations and shows a strong commitment to self-development.
- Performs other routine/non-routine activities as needed.
What you need
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Chemistry is required.
- 2+ years' experience working in a GxP laboratory environment and Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred
- Experience with maintenance of HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography), UHPLC (Ultra High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) or GC (Gas Chromatography).
- Strong written and oral communication skills (English).
- Experience with common laboratory equipment such as balances, graduated cylinders, etc.
- Experience with common analytical methods such as chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.
- Experience conducting compendial analytical testing.
- Experience working with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

- US10: $76,500 - $122,000 USD Annual
