Responsibilities
We currently have a great opportunity available for a Laboratory Solutions Consultant to cover California, Oregon and Washington. The primary objective of the LSC role is to provide pre and post-sales support involving complex Sysmex solutions for single or multi-site health systems and commercial laboratories. The goal is to provide consultative services to existing laboratories and new laboratories to include the Sysmex Work Flow Trending Analysis to determine the appropriate automation configuration, the financial impact, and the Return on Investment (ROI) of the proposed solution. LSC will support sales objectives by assisting in development of sales strategy and tactics, review potential automation sales prior to a proposal being generated, and assist in ensuring the automation and IT configurations are correct. A LSC is required for all projects which include an automated solution from an integrated slidemaker and digital morphology to Total Lab Automation. Other workflow analysis could Flow Cytometry and other lab disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with regional sales team to design Sysmex solutions (IT & IVD) to potential customers which would include: identification of key benefits and efficiencies of the solutions, showing return on investment costs and building of compelling sales positioning arguments.
- Independently perform SWFT (Sysmex Workflow Trending Analysis) studies and collection of data to build compelling sales arguments.
- Assist regional and national sales team with closing system (automation/IT) sales in targeted market segments to meet annual revenue and unit placement goals.
- Manage sales cycle by working with regional sales teams in the areas of: prospecting, account qualification, sales strategies, Automation & IT product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, proposal information generation, justification and closing.
- Coach and influence as the field point of contact for; distribution representatives, other potential co-marketing representatives and support representatives in order to qualify leads, advance sales process, justify system sales, implement, and maintain customer satisfaction to meet sales targets.
- Participate in corporate programs such as VIPs, trade shows, national meetings, customer and distributor training as needed to meet portfolio objectives for product awareness and brand promotion.
- Assist Marketing with product line analysis including competitive positioning, product line gaps and opportunities, product enhancements and new product concepts as well as identify new business opportunities.
- Complete administrative tasks such as expense reporting, monthly reports, territory and customer analysis, funnel analysis, forecasts, competitive intelligence, and annual planning.
- Must have good knowledge of lab workflow, especially pre and post analytical areas involving high volume lab testing areas. Minimally, the individual must demonstrate a strong aptitude to develop such knowledge rapidly.
- The individual must possess and consistently demonstrate strong interpersonal persuasive, problem solving and communication skills.
Travel Percentage: 75%
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry and 3-5 years previous experience in laboratory required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in laboratory management desired.
- Strong workflow management.
- MT, ASCP or MLT required.
- Workflow experience preferred.
- Strong verbal written and persuasive communication skills essential.
- Presentation skills and experience essential.
- All MS office products, and Windows application skills essential.
- Ability to win trust and confidence. Interact with all levels from Lab techs to managers to enhance the Sysmex experience and set achievable customer expectations.
- A strong laboratory background is essential to allow this position to communicate with respect. This job requires satisfaction of the credentialing requirements of Sysmex’s customers, including hospitals and other healthcare facilities, which generally includes proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), and COVID-19.
COMPENSATION
- Salary range for this role is $103,500-150,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
- The total compensation package for this position also includes a choice of health care plan (medical, vision, and dental insurance), an annual incentive bonus, car allowance, paid time off, parental leave, bereavement leave and a 401(K) for all eligible employees.
