Job Description: Join our Team: Mobile Field Service Technician
Location: South Alabama - Remote
Join our team at Terex and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Mobile Field Service Technician to contribute to the Terex Service Team. As a Service Technician at Terex, based in Southern Alabama, you'll play a pivotal role in growing and expanding our service support across the US to continue to help serve our communities by listening, responding, and delivering solutions. Our service function is key to our business success, and we are looking to add skilled team members as we expand our service network. We continually invest in our team members by providing ongoing technical training to develop your skills and grow our business.
What You’ll Do
- Strictly follow all safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Expertly repair and replace critical components of refuse collection vehicles, heavy machinery, and utility equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Perform regular, diligent maintenance and inspections according to established schedules to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Install, configure, and test new equipment and systems at customer sites, ensuring proper operation and customer satisfaction.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the Southern Alabama area to provide on-site service and support as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of service activities, repairs, and parts used to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and enhance overall service quality.
What You’ll Bring
- Basic set of mechanical tools (sockets, wrenches, and battery-operated impact gun)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with heavy machinery and/or utility equipment in a Field Service role.
- Demonstrated skill with mechanical and welding tasks, using hand and power tools for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Able to pass an MVR, obtain and maintain a DOT qualification, and willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- 5+ years in a similar field
- Excellent communication skills: both oral and written
- Basic computer skills
- Proficient in mechanical tasks, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices, with a demonstrated background in basic welding, cutting, and layout operations for equipment repairs.
Working Conditions
- Must be willing to work varied hours and be on the road up to three to four nights per week.
- Able to work comfortably in tight spaces and at heights, climb ladders, access vehicles from various positions, lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs, and perform duties in diverse weather conditions.

The compensation range for this position is $30-$38 hourly.
