Quality Control Technician

Schedule: 5 AM to 3 PM; Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $22.05 - $23.95 (Negotiable depending on experience)
Position Summary
Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the inspection of received materials. Inspects and/or measures incoming materials to verify conformance to specifications. Maintains detailed records of findings.

Responsible for the inspections of manufactured items.

Inspects and/or measures items manufactured within the facility to verify conformance to specifications and/or to detect problems.

Discusses inspection results with those responsible for products and the recommendations necessary for corrective actions.

Reads work orders, instructions or drawings on First Run Articles (FRAs) within the quality system. Follows through with a determined disposition of rejected materials.

Responsible for analyzing materials and parts returned by customers. Maintains detailed records of inspection findings, customer complaints and comments, as well as corrective action taken.

Work with suppliers to resolve issues relating to defective or unacceptable materials and to determine the corrective action needed. May require travel to supplier locations.

Works closely and communicates regularly with management, production, corporate quality control, and engineering personnel to investigate and resolve any quality issues pertaining to suppliers, customers, or production.

Responsible for sorting active raw materials or manufacturing products at IFS facility and supplier or customer locations.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Practice personal safety and follow all safety practices and procedures. Comply with all policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to management.

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
-
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
-
1 to 3 months of related experience as a Quality Control Technician / Quality Auditor; or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.

Ability to read a tape measure and use various hand tools
-
Experience working in a team environment
-
Requires attention to detail and being thorough in completing work tasks

Ability to use hand and power tools and ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e., pallet jack)

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Intermediate computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the company.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs, sit, stand, or walk. The employee must have manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
