Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Assess patient medical histories, vital signs, and dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
• Assist the dentist during various procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
• Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry within a dental clinic setting.
• Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in medical imaging, X-ray processing, and maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
• Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique and infection prevention management.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about oral health practices.

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
