Assignment Overview

Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of high-acuity postpartum experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit in a large volume, high census facility
- High Risk Obstetric patient population with diverse case mix
- Standard assignment is 4 couplets per nurse, with potential to manage a 4th couplet during census surges
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- 6 weekend days required per contract
- Floating required to Issaquah Campus Postpartum, Edmonds Campus Postpartum, and Labor and Delivery for 2nd hour of recovery
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required in high acuity postpartum care
- Epic EMR experience required (hard requirement)
- Experience with Magnesium Sulfate therapy required
- Experience with Pitocin (oxytocin) administration required
- Experience with Foley catheter care required
- Experience managing postpartum hemorrhage required
- Experience with substance withdrawal care required
- Experience with vaginal delivery and cesarean section postpartum care
- Skilled in episiotomy/incision care and fundus/lochia/perineum care
- JADA experience preferred
- 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from supervisory roles such as Charge RNs or Leads
Additional Information
- Provide postpartum care to high-risk obstetric patients including couplet care management
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience in high-acuity postpartum settings and ability to handle census surges
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
- Former permanent Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month separation, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- Perm staff from other (non-Swedish) Providence facilities are eligible for travel contracts after a 3-month separation
- Compact license holders are honored at all Swedish facilities
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
