INTRODUCTION
Launch your career in life sciences consulting with a team that puts people first. Blue Matter Insights’ Analyst Internship Program is a 10-week, hands-on experience designed for new graduates who want to build deep expertise in primary market research (PMR) while contributing to work that helps bring meaningful therapies to patients. You’ll learn alongside seasoned researchers, own real project responsibilities, and shape your own capstone, all with a clear path to a full-time role for those who thrive in the program.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
As an Analyst Intern on the Blue Matter Insights team, you’ll join a dynamic, growing group of market research consultants who partner with leading biopharmaceutical companies to answer their most important strategic questions. From the first week, you’ll be paired with mentors, onboarded into live client projects, and given the tools, training, and coaching to develop into a confident PMR professional.
The program is structured around three pillars:
- Foundational Training: A structured curriculum delivered through Blue Matter Academy, our internal learning and development capability, covering qualitative and quantitative PMR methodologies, the biopharma lifecycle, and the consulting toolkit you’ll use every day.
- Real Project Experience: Meaningful contributions to live client engagements from week one, with increasing responsibility as you grow.
- Mentorship & Coaching: A dedicated mentor, regular check-ins, and consistent feedback from senior team members who are genuinely invested in your development. This is a hallmark of our People First culture.
Blue Matter is a premier life sciences strategy consulting firm that merges the art of innovative thinking with the science of strategic consulting. We empower life sciences companies to achieve their full potential by helping clients successfully develop and commercialize therapies that extend and improve human lives.
Our Insights team partners with leading biopharmaceutical companies to deliver primary market research that informs their most important strategic decisions. We offer the tools, methodologies, and expertise of a large global consulting firm, while providing the personalized service, creativity, and agility of a boutique. Our work spans more than 250 clients, from innovative start-ups to nearly all of the top 20 global biopharma companies, with a 90% repeat business rate that speaks to the value we deliver.
A “PEOPLE FIRST” CULTURE
Our “People First” culture is the foundation of everything we do. We built Blue Matter on the belief that how we treat each other is more important than any project, and we live that every day. It’s a culture that starts at the top, is inclusive at every level, and shapes every important decision we make.
With 350+ team members across our nine offices (San Francisco, New York, Boston, London, Berlin, Zurich, Mumbai, Gurgaon, and Pune), we’re a global team that leverages diverse perspectives and expertise to make a difference for our clients and for each other.
BEYOND THE BASICS: SHAPE THE FUTURE OF PMR
We believe early-career talent should do more than observe. You’ll have opportunities to contribute to the work that’s shaping how our industry evolves:
- Behavioral Science Lab: Collaborate with our internal team applying behavioral science principles to research design, decision-making, and client insights.
- AI Taskforce: Join the team exploring how AI is transforming market research, from workflow automation to new analytical approaches, and help pilot emerging tools.
- Capstone Project: Design and present your own solution. Each Analyst will ideate and develop a new product, methodology, or process innovation related to PMR, and present it to the full team as the culminating deliverable of the program.

As an analyst intern, you are expected to confidently leverage and prompt AI tools, demonstrating an openness to adapting and innovating with AI in your day-to-day work. However, AI is not a replacement for your judgment. Its primary role is to streamline mechanical and operational tasks, such as executing data entry, automating workflows, and assisting with preliminary quality control. When implementing AI, you are expected to maintain a human-oversight approach, meaning you must transparently communicate your AI usage to your team and rigorously verify every output. Ultimately, you are personally responsible for the accuracy of every deliverable you submit. Offloading mechanical processes buys you the bandwidth to focus on deep, critical thinking. Tips for Your Remote Market Research Analyst Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote market research analyst openings from across the U.S. in one place. Check it regularly and apply directly to roles that match your research background and tools, since strong remote postings fill faster than on-site ones.
Build a portfolio of independent research work
Remote employers want proof you can design and execute a research project without supervision. Compile two or three finished deliverables, such as a survey report, a competitive landscape analysis, or a consumer segmentation brief, and make them easy to share during your application.
Demonstrate async communication in your application
Remote market research analyst roles require clear written handoffs of data, methodology, and recommendations. Your cover letter and any take-home assessment are your first chance to show you can communicate complex findings in writing without real-time back-and-forth.
Highlight remote-relevant research tools upfront
Call out the specific platforms you use for survey design, statistical analysis, and data visualization early in your resume. Tools like Qualtrics, SPSS, Tableau, and Google Analytics signal remote readiness to hiring managers who cannot watch you work in person.
Prepare for remote-style research interviews
Remote interviews for this role often include a case study or a take-home data exercise. Practice walking through your research methodology and decision-making on video calls, since distributed teams evaluate how well you explain your process clearly without a whiteboard or in-person cues.
Remote Market Research Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote market research analyst job?
Target companies that operate distributed research teams, such as remote-first technology firms, digital agencies, and consumer insights consultancies, since they are most likely to hire market research analysts remotely. Remote employers screen heavily for self-direction, clear written communication, and proficiency in tools like survey platforms, statistical software, and data visualization. A portfolio showing independent research projects, published reports, or client deliverables gives you a concrete edge over candidates with equivalent credentials.
Which companies hire remote market research analysts?
Remote market research analyst roles are posted by Compeer Financial, ZS Associates, and bvk and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first technology companies, consumer goods brands, healthcare organizations, and market research consultancies with distributed teams are among the most active employers of this role.
Can you get a remote market research analyst job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage projects and communicate findings independently from day one. Remote-first research agencies and startups are the most likely to hire entry-level candidates. You can strengthen your candidacy by completing a research project you initiated yourself, contributing to open survey datasets, or earning a certificate in market research methodology to demonstrate structured analytical thinking.
Do you need a degree for remote market research analyst jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers prefer candidates with a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, statistics, or a related field, but a strong portfolio of research work, hands-on experience with survey tools and data analysis, and demonstrated ability to deliver clear insights carry significant weight. Candidates who can show real outputs, such as research reports, competitive analyses, or consumer segmentation work, often compete effectively alongside degree-holders.
Which industries hire the most remote market research analysts?
The sectors hiring the most remote market research analysts are Banking & Financial Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These industries rely on distributed research teams to gather and interpret consumer, competitive, and market data without requiring analysts to be co-located with product or strategy teams.
