Research Associate Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a research associate job in Atlanta?
Atlanta's strongest hiring is in life sciences, academic research, and healthcare systems, with opportunities concentrated around Emory University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the biotech cluster in Midtown and Buckhead. Candidates who stand out typically have hands-on lab or data experience, familiarity with IRB protocols or clinical research workflows, and a graduate degree or relevant certifications. Targeting research-heavy hospital systems and university-affiliated institutes gives you the best entry point in this market.
Which companies hire research associates in Atlanta?
Atlanta research associate roles are posted by The Home Depot, Emory University, and PwC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's mix of major academic medical centers, contract research organizations, and life sciences firms means hiring comes from both large institutions and mid-size specialty employers.
Are there remote research associate jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role type. Hands-on lab or clinical positions are almost always on-site, while data analysis, literature review, and health economics roles are far more remote-friendly. About 22% of research associate openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the highest concentration in public health, social science, and market research functions.
How can I get a research associate job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through university research programs or contract research organizations that hire research coordinators or lab assistants as stepping stones. Emory, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State all hire entry-level research staff, and Atlanta's growing clinical trials sector regularly brings on coordinators with only a bachelor's degree. Building skills in REDCap, SPSS, or basic wet lab techniques and applying to coordinator titles first is the most direct route into a full research associate role.
Which industries hire the most research associates in Atlanta?
Most research associate openings in Atlanta sit in Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Accounting & Auditing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's concentration of academic medical centers, CDC proximity, and a growing biotech corridor in Midtown drives sustained demand across those sectors throughout the year.
