Mgr,Research Admin
The Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Preventive Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Research Administration Manager who manages and coordinates research administration efforts of multiple clinical trials underway at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Southwest Clinical Trials Network node. UNM is proud to serve as a node of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Clinical Trials Network (CTN). The CTN provides an enterprise in which NIDA, treatment researchers, and community-based service providers work toward new treatment options in community-level clinical practice.
The Research Administration Manager will assist faculty and research staff in the development of competitive proposals and pre-award administration of projects and protocols, provide oversite of funding policies, rules, and regulation, and coordinates and produces special reports, proposals for the university and funding agency. The manager will also perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. - Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Experience with managing sponsored research administration functions
- Experience with liaising between external funding agencies and university contacts
- Experience with development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objective, and short- and long-range planning
- Experience in assisting faculty and staff in development of competitive research proposals
- Training and experience in developing and implementing contracts and MOUs
- Experience with UNM systems such as Chrome River, Click, and IRB
- Experience in the development of annual operating budgets and providing fiscal direction to a group
- Proficient in Motivational Interviewing
- Experience in medical education and training
