Restaurant Operations Management Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a restaurant operations management job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's densest hiring corridors: River North and the Loop for upscale and hotel dining, Fulton Market for chef-driven independents, and the broader North Side for fast-casual and multi-unit brands. Multi-unit experience, P&L ownership, and familiarity with Chicago's competitive labor market give candidates the clearest edge. Targeting regional groups headquartered here, such as hotel brands and large hospitality management companies, opens the most consistent pipeline.
Which companies hire restaurant operations managements in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring restaurant operations managements in Chicago include Shake Shack, Trump Organization, and Lettuce Entertain You, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Chicago's market is anchored by hotel and convention-center food and beverage operations, regional multi-unit dining groups, and a strong independent restaurant scene that regularly promotes from within.
Are there remote restaurant operations management jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though restaurant operations management is largely an on-site role given its hands-on oversight of staff, service, and facilities. About 50% of restaurant operations management openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, largely covering corporate-level roles in training, quality assurance, or multi-unit oversight for regional headquarters based in the city.
How can I get a restaurant operations management job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is moving up through a shift supervisor or assistant manager role at a multi-unit operator, such as a hotel food and beverage outlet, a large fast-casual brand, or a Chicago-based restaurant group. Many regional groups promote internally and value candidates who have worked Chicago's high-volume brunch, late-night, or event-catering environments. Completing a hospitality management program at a Chicago institution like Kendall College also signals readiness to employers hiring at the associate level.
Which industries hire the most restaurant operations managements in Chicago?
The sectors hiring the most restaurant operations managements in Chicago are Technology & Software, Retail, and Fintech, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Chicago's convention economy, hotel density downtown, and nationally recognized independent dining scene keep demand high across all three, with hotel and event-driven food and beverage consistently posting the largest volume of open roles.
