INTRODUCTION
This is a remote/ rotational position, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

JOB PURPOSE:
Maintenance and repair of typical light duty pick-ups, crew cabs and larger trucks. Operate and inspect vehicles or equipment to diagnose defects and complete repairs.
EXTERNAL DESCRIPTION:
- Performs routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs, including engine and transmission, mainly Ford Super Duty/ F-Series trucks, some vans, and Excursion vehicles with minimum guidance from supervisor.
- Operates and inspects vehicles or equipment to diagnose defects and make repairs.
- Will be required to work on fuel, electrical, hydraulic, drive train and other systems using tools and test equipment common to the trade.
- Must be able to prepare paperwork and describe failure, and repair associated with warranty requirements.
- Performs work in the shop or field as needed.
- Ram Trucks and Ford Super Duty vehicle repair.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY:
- Thorough understanding of internal combustion engines.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Fabrication and installation of aftermarket products experience.
- Basic welding knowledge and ability.
- Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.
- Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
- Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather.
- Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
- Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
- Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
- Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
- Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

IN-VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM: As part of our commitment to safety and accountability, company vehicles are equipped with in-cab cameras and vehicle monitoring systems. These systems may record video and audio, as well as collect GPS location, vehicle speed, harsh braking, rapid acceleration and other driving behaviors. All data is subject to review by management to ensure compliance with company policies and safe driving practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years’ experience as a journeyman-level light duty mechanic in the construction, dealership, military, or oilfield industries required or a combination of experience plus education at a recognized trade school in automotive technology to equal three years.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver’s license required and ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ford Warranty experience.
- Previous dealership experience.
- Dodge Ram truck experience.
