Robotics Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a robotics job in Boston?
The strongest path into Boston's robotics market is targeting the Seaport and Kendall Square clusters, where medical device manufacturers, defense contractors, and autonomous systems startups concentrate most of their hiring. Candidates with hands-on experience in ROS, motion planning, or embedded systems stand out locally. Building connections through MIT or Northeastern engineering networks also opens doors that cold applications rarely do.
Which companies hire roboticss in Boston?
Employers hiring roboticss in Boston right now include Aptiv, Amazon, and ALTEN, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's hiring landscape skews toward deep-tech companies, from surgical robotics firms and defense primes to warehouse automation startups and university-affiliated spinouts.
Are there remote robotics jobs in Boston?
Yes, but with limits: robotics roles that involve hardware, lab work, or physical systems are almost always on-site, while software, simulation, and systems-integration roles more often allow remote or hybrid arrangements. About 22% of robotics openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. Software and controls-focused positions at Boston's tech companies are the most likely to offer flexible work options.
How can I get a robotics job in Boston with little or no experience?
