INTRODUCTION
Shape the Future of Water Infrastructure Across New England
This is not a traditional project management role. WSP is seeking a recognized municipal water leader who can grow client relationships, win strategic work, and lead delivery of some of the region's most important water and wastewater programs.
As a Senior Project Manager / Client Service Leader, you will serve as a trusted advisor to municipal and utility clients while helping expand our presence throughout Massachusetts and New England. You will have access to a deep national bench of technical experts — allowing you to focus on client leadership, project success, and market growth.
Why This Role Is Different
Massachusetts is in the midst of a major infrastructure investment cycle. MassDEP compliance obligations, PFAS response programs, aging conveyance and treatment infrastructure, and the push toward comprehensive asset management are driving capital programs across the Commonwealth. WSP is actively building its presence in this market — and this role is the platform to lead that growth. You will not be inheriting a mature book of business and managing the status quo. You will be shaping it.
- Opportunity to build and expand a growing practice rather than simply manage projects
- Significant autonomy to develop clients, pursue opportunities, and shape market strategy
- Access to national technical resources and subject matter experts
- Clear pathway toward Client Director, Practice Leader, and Regional Leadership roles
- Develop and strengthen executive-level relationships with municipal water and wastewater clients, utilities, and state agencies
- Lead business development, strategic positioning, capture planning, proposals, interviews, and contract negotiations
- Serve as Project Manager or Program Manager on major treatment, conveyance, pumping, resiliency, and asset management programs
- Collaborate with regional and national technical leaders to deliver exceptional client outcomes
- Mentor project managers and technical staff
- Represent WSP through NEWEA, MWWA, AWWA, ACEC, and regional industry events
- Help shape growth strategy for the New England water market
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- PE license required
- 12+ years of municipal water/wastewater consulting experience
- Established relationships with Massachusetts municipalities, utilities, and MassDEP
- Demonstrated success winning and delivering complex infrastructure programs
- Strong executive presence and client-facing leadership skills
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across planning, design, and construction phases

Sales Leader Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales leader job in Boston?
Breaking into Boston's sales leadership market means targeting the industries that drive the most hiring locally: life sciences and biotech, fintech and financial services, and enterprise SaaS. Companies in the Seaport and Kendall Square corridors tend to hire frequently, and a background closing complex or consultative deals carries real weight here. Networking through Boston's active tech and biotech communities gives candidates a concrete edge over cold applications.
Which companies hire sales leaders in Boston?
Boston sales leader roles are posted by Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, and WSP and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's employer base skews toward growth-stage biotech firms, established financial institutions, and mid-market software companies, so openings appear across a wide range of organization sizes and deal types.
Are there remote sales leader jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: field and enterprise sales leadership positions typically require on-site or travel-heavy work, while inside sales and revenue operations leadership roles are more likely to be remote-friendly. About 15% of sales leader openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the highest remote share in SaaS and technology-focused roles.
How can I get a sales leader job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is moving up from a quota-carrying individual contributor role at a local SaaS or biotech company, where promotion into team lead or sales manager positions happens quickly in high-growth environments. Startups in the Seaport and Fenway innovation districts often create first-time leadership roles as they scale. Demonstrating consistent overperformance as a rep, combined with any informal mentoring or training experience, tends to open doors faster than additional credentials.
Which industries hire the most sales leaders in Boston?
The sectors hiring the most sales leaders in Boston are Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's concentration of research-driven biotech firms, major financial institutions anchored in the Financial District, and a growing enterprise technology cluster make those sectors the dominant sources of local sales leadership demand.
