Pantex is seeking a skilled and motivated SAP ABAP Technical Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust solutions within our SAP Enterprise Resource Planning Central Component (ECC) and SAP Business Suite 4 SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (S/4HANA) landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ABAP development, a commitment to quality, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving within an Agile environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, advance technical expertise, and contribute to the evolution of our SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and implement high-quality ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms and workflows Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows (RICEFW objects) within SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Translate functional specifications into technical designs, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver effective SAP solutions.
- Participate actively in Agile SCRUM development projects, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting of complex technical issues in SAP systems.
- Participate in performance tuning and maintenance activities
- Adhere to established development standards, best practices, and change management processes, including the use of version control systems.
- Document technical designs, development specifications, and testing procedures thoroughly.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and technical standards.
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship; lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Typical engineering/science experience ranging from 3 to 7 years.
- OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in ABAP development within SAP ECC or S/4 HANA.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, maintaining, and implementing enterprise business applications.
- Practical experience with Agile SCRUM development methodologies.
- Proficiency with relational database management systems, particularly SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, Oracle, and experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design concepts such as inheritance, composition, encapsulation, and the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion) and understanding of change management processes (e.g., Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, SAP transports).
- Ability to develop robust and maintainable code with clear documentation.
- Experience with ABAP development in SAP S/4HANA, including exposure to Core Data Services (CDS) Views, ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services.
- Knowledge of Fiori development (e.g., User Interface (UI5), Open Data Protocol (OData) services, Fiori Elements) or other full-stack web development technologies.
- Understanding of SAP Security.
- SAP certifications in ECC or S/4 HANA.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities at one time and remain results-oriented.
- Must work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
