SAP Business Analyst Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sap business analyst in Michigan?
Most Michigan employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, or a related field as the foundation. There is no state-issued license required to work as a sap business analyst in Michigan, so the path centers on building hands-on SAP experience, ideally through an implementation project, and earning a module-specific SAP certification. Many candidates enter through IT analyst or ERP support roles at Michigan manufacturers or health systems, then move into dedicated business analyst positions as they demonstrate functional knowledge.
How much do SAP business analysts make in Michigan?
SAP business analysts in Michigan earn a median of about $103,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $66,360 for the lowest 10% to over $155,670 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sap business analysts in Michigan?
Employers hiring sap business analysts in Michigan right now include NSK, Perrigo, and Cognizant, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Michigan's concentration of automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and large regional health systems means SAP demand here tends to be project-driven, with frequent openings tied to S/4HANA migrations and enterprise-wide ERP modernization initiatives.
Which Michigan cities have the most sap business analyst jobs?
Warren, Allegan, and Dearborn have the highest concentration of sap business analyst openings in Michigan. Detroit and its suburbs dominate because of the headquarters density of automotive manufacturers and their supplier networks, while Grand Rapids draws demand from its growing healthcare and manufacturing base, and Ann Arbor benefits from the presence of technology-forward employers and University of Michigan health system operations, each of which run large SAP environments.
Are there remote sap business analyst jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of sap business analyst openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of this work is requirements gathering, documentation, and system configuration that translates well to remote settings. The portions of the role most likely to require on-site presence are user acceptance testing coordination, go-live support, and in-person workshops with stakeholders at manufacturing or clinical facilities.
How can I get hired as a sap business analyst in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an ERP support analyst or junior IT analyst role at a Michigan manufacturer or health system and requesting involvement in any ongoing SAP project. Large Michigan employers like automotive OEMs and regional hospital networks often bring on associate-level business analysts during major S/4HANA rollouts. Completing a recognized SAP training program and earning a foundational certification in a module like FICO or MM gives candidates a concrete edge, as does experience with adjacent tools like Excel-based data analysis or business process documentation from roles in operations or finance.
