JOB DESCRIPTION :
IT Systems Support Specialist (SAP ABAP) – Onsite

Location: Sacramento, CA 95814
Job Type: Contract (6–12 months with potential extension)
Work Location: Onsite – 5 days per week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Support Specialist with strong expertise in SAP ERP ABAP development to support a large public sector technology environment in Sacramento, CA. This is a full-time onsite contract opportunity where you'll develop, enhance, and maintain SAP HR Benefits and Payroll solutions while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.

The ideal candidate is an experienced SAP ABAP developer with excellent communication skills, strong documentation abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain SAP ABAP applications within SAP ECC 6.0.
• Support SAP HR Benefits and Payroll development initiatives.
• Develop and maintain payroll and benefits reports for business users.
• Automate business processes related to employee benefits administration.
• Develop custom reports involving payroll deductions, retroactive adjustments, and payroll data analysis.
• Create technical documentation for applications, enhancements, and support activities.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with functional analysts, business stakeholders, and technical team members.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP ERP ABAP development experience in SAP ECC 6.0.
• Experience working across multiple SAP ERP modules.
• Strong knowledge of:
• ABAP Programming
• Web Dynpro ABAP
• BAPIs
• Enhancement Framework
• SAP Workflows
• Adobe Forms
• SmartForms
• SAPscript
• ABAP on HANA
• Experience optimizing SAP applications for performance and efficiency.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience creating clear technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SAP HR Benefits and Payroll.
• Experience developing payroll reporting solutions.
• Experience working within a government or public sector environment.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to team members.
