How do I get a security researcher job in Colorado Springs?
Colorado Springs hires security researchers primarily through its dense defense contracting and Space Force ecosystem, so targeting cleared or clearance-friendly roles in the Peterson Space Force Base corridor, Briargate, and the downtown tech cluster gives you the strongest foothold. Candidates with active security clearances, experience in vulnerability research, or backgrounds in critical infrastructure stand out most with local employers. Networking through Colorado Springs-area defense and cybersecurity industry events also opens doors that online applications alone do not.
Which companies hire security researchers in Colorado Springs?
Colorado Springs security researcher roles are posted by AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Booz Allen Hamilton, and L3Harris and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local employer base skews heavily toward defense contractors, government agencies, and Space Force support organizations that operate in and around the Peterson Space Force Base and Schriever corridors.
Are there remote security researcher jobs in Colorado Springs?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type, analytical and software-focused research work is far more remote-friendly than hands-on lab, hardware, or classified facility positions common in Colorado Springs. About 23% of security researcher openings tied to Colorado Springs are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at defense contractors and commercial cybersecurity firms in the Briargate and downtown areas.
How can I get a security researcher job in Colorado Springs with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Colorado Springs is pursuing junior analyst or security operations roles at local defense contractors or cybersecurity firms that support Space Force and Army Cyber Command missions, where clearance eligibility often matters more than years of experience. Entry-level positions at managed security service providers and government support contractors in the Peterson Space Force Base area frequently accept candidates with relevant certifications and strong fundamentals over direct research experience. Contributing to open-source security projects or completing capture-the-flag competitions builds a concrete portfolio that local hiring managers recognize.
