Senior Level Senior Property Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level senior property accountant job?
Employers at this level want candidates who have owned full-cycle property accounting for a substantial portfolio, not just supported it. Demonstrate that you have led month-end close, prepared CAM reconciliations independently, and mentored junior staff. Proficiency in Yardi or MRI, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience presenting financials to asset managers or ownership groups will set you apart from mid-level competition.
Which companies hire senior level senior property accountants?
Companies hiring senior level senior property accountants right now include Sage Hospitality, Ascend Partners Services, and Synergy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from REITs, commercial real estate investment firms, property management companies, and large institutional landlords managing diversified portfolios.
Are there remote senior level senior property accountant jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and portfolio type. About 17% of senior level senior property accountant openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the accounting function's adaptability compared to on-site property operations roles. Fully remote positions are more common at larger firms with centralized accounting departments.
What makes a senior property accountant role senior level?
Senior level roles carry portfolio ownership rather than task execution. That means independently managing full-cycle accounting for a large or complex property portfolio, leading CAM and operating expense reconciliations, reviewing the work of staff accountants, and serving as the primary accounting contact for asset managers or investors. The expectation is that you resolve problems without escalation and contribute to process improvement.
Which industries hire the most senior level senior property accountants?
Senior level senior property accountant roles concentrate in Accounting & Auditing, Technology & Software, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they manage large, income-generating real estate portfolios that require experienced accountants to maintain compliance, support investor reporting, and deliver accurate financials across multiple asset types.
