Senior Technical Training Developer Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior technical training developer in Kentucky?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in instructional design, education technology, or a technical field combined with progressively responsible experience building training programs. Kentucky does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers in regulated sectors such as healthcare and manufacturing expect familiarity with compliance training standards. Earning a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance credential strengthens candidacy, and building a portfolio of completed Kentucky-based projects is highly valued by hiring managers in this market.
Which companies hire senior technical training developers in Kentucky?
Companies currently hiring senior technical training developers in Kentucky include CVS Health, Coca-Cola Consolidated, and SAIC, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kentucky's concentration of large manufacturing operations, regional healthcare networks, and national logistics hubs creates steady, year-round demand for senior-level instructional design talent.
Which Kentucky cities have the most senior technical training developer jobs?
Louisville, Kentucky, and Erlanger account for the largest share of senior technical training developer openings in Kentucky. Louisville drives the most volume as home to major healthcare headquarters, insurance companies, and distribution centers, while Lexington's university affiliates and regional medical systems add consistent demand, and the Northern Kentucky corridor benefits from proximity to large corporate campuses and logistics operations anchored near the Cincinnati market.
Are there remote senior technical training developer jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, and more than most fields, because instructional design and curriculum development work is largely digital and deliverable remotely. About 56% of senior technical training developer openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. Content design, LMS administration, and e-learning development tasks are the most consistently remote, while roles requiring on-site pilot facilitation or in-person needs analysis with frontline workers tend to be hybrid.
How can I get hired as a senior technical training developer in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a training coordinator or instructional designer associate role at a large Kentucky employer such as a regional hospital network, a Toyota or other major manufacturer, or a statewide logistics company. These organizations often promote from adjacent roles in technical writing, quality assurance, or operations supervision when candidates complete an instructional design certificate through the University of Kentucky or University of Louisville. Building a portfolio of at least two to three sample e-learning modules created in Articulate Storyline significantly accelerates hiring consideration.
Where can I find and apply to senior technical training developer jobs in Kentucky?
