ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) focused on Graph Database Architectures and High-Volume Reporting Engines. You will lead the quality strategy for verifying complex graph traversals, indexing algorithms, multi-tenant analytics, and real-time visualization systems built across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- Build automated test suites to verify node/edge relationship integrity, sub-graph query optimizations, and path traversal correctness (e.g., Neo4j, AWS Neptune, GraphQL) under concurrent workloads
- Validate end-to-end data fidelity, dynamic aggregation accuracy, latency SLAs, and schema evolution across high-volume reporting layers
- Design automated benchmarking platforms that measure query execution plans, indexing performance, and memory consumption under multi-gigabyte payload conditions
- Leverage Kubernetes on AWS (EKS) and Azure (AKS) to spin up isolated, multi-tenant database clusters loaded with synthetic graph datasets for automated regression runs
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 8+ years of experience in software development or test engineering using Java, Python, or Go
- Expertise in graph technologies (Cypher, Gremlin, GraphQL, Neo4j, AWS Neptune) and complex relational/OLAP query validation
- Strong cloud background across AWS and Azure data services, along with Kubernetes deployment orchestration
- Experience verifying large-scale analytical databases and BI reporting backend engines

Senior Level Software Test Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level software test engineer job?
Employers at this level look for engineers who can own end-to-end test strategy, not just execute test cases. Strong candidates demonstrate experience designing scalable automation frameworks, influencing engineering decisions upstream, and mentoring junior engineers. Contributions to CI/CD pipeline quality, cross-team collaboration, and a history of measurable defect reduction all signal readiness for senior level ownership.
Which companies hire senior level software test engineers?
Companies hiring senior level software test engineers right now include Anduril, Shield AI, and Muon Space, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level covers large technology firms, enterprise software companies, and regulated industries where product quality and release velocity both carry significant business weight.
Are there remote senior level software test engineer jobs?
Yes, and remote availability is strong at this experience level. About 20% of senior level software test engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many engineering organizations treat senior-level quality roles as distributed-friendly. Fully on-site roles tend to concentrate in industries with strict compliance or hardware-dependent testing environments.
What makes a software test engineer role senior level?
A senior level software test engineer role is defined by scope and ownership rather than task execution. These engineers design the test architecture, set quality standards for the entire team, evaluate tooling decisions, and drive testing strategy from early requirements through release. They mentor mid-level and junior engineers, advocate for quality in product planning conversations, and are accountable for outcomes across the full delivery cycle.
Which industries hire the most senior level software test engineers?
Senior Level software test engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Aerospace & Defense, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors tend to drive the most hiring at this level because they combine high release frequency, complex system dependencies, and strict reliability standards that require experienced engineers to own quality strategy rather than simply execute it.
