IT/System Administrator
Position Summary
Bemsco Defense Products Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Part-Time IT/System Administrator to support our internal technology systems, users, and network infrastructure. This position is responsible for providing day-to-day IT support, maintaining computer systems, supporting Microsoft 365 administration, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and helping ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and properly maintained.
This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for employees, including hardware, software, printers, phones, and basic network issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows PCs, laptops, workstations, and related equipment.
- Set up new employee workstations, user accounts, email, and system access.
- Assist with employee offboarding, including disabling accounts and recovering company equipment.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and user administration.
- Maintain user accounts, permissions, passwords, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, server access, printer issues, and general IT concerns.
- Perform routine system updates, software patches, backups, and basic maintenance.
- Support cybersecurity best practices, including antivirus, endpoint security, MFA, password policies, and user awareness.
- Maintain IT inventory, software licensing records, passwords, and system documentation.
- Assist with ERP system support, including JobBOSS, if applicable.
- Coordinate with outside IT vendors or service providers as needed.
- Help maintain compliance with company security policies and applicable aerospace/defense requirements.
- Recommend improvements to IT systems, processes, and security practices.
- Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience in IT support, system administration, or a related technical role.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and user account management.
- Basic understanding of networking, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and user access issues.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive company information appropriately.
- Due to the nature of the work performed at Bemsco Defense Products Inc., this position may require access to export-controlled information. In accordance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person, as defined by ITAR, to be considered for employment.
Preferred
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably JobBOSS.
- Experience with cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection, backups, and access control.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, or Azure/Entra ID.
- Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, or other defense-related cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience managing IT vendors or outside service providers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work at desks, production areas, server/network equipment locations, and office environments.
Schedule
- Part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week.
- Schedule to be determined based on business needs and candidate availability.
