As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will have an opportunity to be involved in all facets of the global tax provision and compliance processes. As a member of the Global Tax Reporting & Compliance Team you will work on Resideo's global and statutory income tax accounting, reporting, and compliance. You will identify, design, and implement processes and improvements across data collection, analysis, documentation, submission, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong desire to learn, the ability to identify opportunities for improvement, and the wherewithal to implement those improvements. The candidate should have excellent organizational and data management skills, the ability to work independently but as part of a small team, prioritize multiple competing deadlines, strong communication skills, and a proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of tax matters and have the opportunity to work with the Vice President of Tax and Director of Global Tax Planning assisting with transfer pricing, domestic and international tax planning, global mergers and acquisitions, and tax audits/controversies.
JOB DUTIES:
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual global tax provisions and relevant tax disclosures for the company’s quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Prepare and review US federal, state, local, and select foreign income/franchise tax returns.
- Prepare and review US federal, state, local, and select foreign estimated tax payments.
- Prepare and review various US informational returns and reports.
- Maintain and monitor global tax compliance calendar and ensure compliance deadlines are met timely.
- Participate in the annual US Research & Development Tax Credit study.
- Maintaining processes, managing documentation, and conducting annual walkthroughs and testing to meet quarterly and annual Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Respond to US Federal, state, and local tax authority notices and audits by gathering data and documentation, researching issues, and preparing responses.
- Participate in the design, implementation, execution, and maintenance of global tax processes and controls.
- Support the evolution of the tax function, technological enhancements to existing processes, and implementation of tax technology tools.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 5+ years of experience with a national accounting firm and/or in a large, multinational corporate income tax department.
- 2+ years of experience in ASC 740 Income Tax Accounting and/or Income Tax Compliance.
WE VALUE:
- CPA, MBT, or MS in Tax.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to perform research and effectively communicate findings.
- Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and complete work within established deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with consultants and teammates to understand project objectives and timelines.
- Organizational skills with the ability to efficiently organize and summarize projects and information.
- Problem solving ability and ability to handle obstacles and unanticipated problems with a competent, positive, and professional attitude.
- Team player, takes responsibility for completion of assigned work and coordinates with others whose work may be affected.
- Proactive and resourceful with a positive attitude and energy.
- Experience/proficiency with Corptax, SAP, and/or Hyperion.
