Leads ongoing critical environment maintenance and repair for specific service lines. Engages and leads medium-level impact projects and coordinates with relevant stakeholders. Manages incidents that impact Data Center Infrastucture services, resolving incidents in a timely manner. Ensures alignment of own work with safe working practices is maintained. Supports on-site data centers operations related to engineering infrastructure, identifying risks and gaps and troubleshooting as required. Follows and enhances policies and procedures. Participates in training programs for newer members of the team.
Responsibilities:
Physically capable of climbing ladders, walking long distances within large complexes, and safely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to obtain government security clearance or certification, such as DOD or VA.
Comfortable working outdoors, in mechanical rooms, and in computer environments.
Proficiency in operating company vehicles, radios, and assigned equipment.
Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Flexible to work additional or irregular hours as needed, adhering to local regulations.
Adhere to corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understanding the importance of safeguarding corporate and client assets, and taking appropriate action to prevent and report security breaches within the scope of the position.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Certifications:
Possess a valid Driver's License.
Hold a Universal Refrigeration Certificate.
Key Responsibilities
Critical Environment Maintenance Support:
-Completes in ongoing Data Center critical infrastructure maintenance and repair for specific service lines, ensuring that service uptime is maintained to high standards and dealing with faults promptly.
-Employs basic operating knowledge of engineering systems to engage in standard diagnostics and repairs, escalating blockers when beyond scope.
-Applies knowledge of Oracle processes, procedures, and industry standards to resolve routine issues.
-Identifies and shares opportunities for system-level enhancements with both immediate and related teams.
-Participates in evaluating the suitability of components, processes, or action plans.
-Engages and leads medium level impact projects and coordinates with relevant stakeholders.
Incident Management and Operation Improvement:
-Manages Data Center incidents that impact the critical infrastructure, resolving incidents in a timely manner.
-Communicates status of incident to all relevant stakeholders, escalating when needed.
-Collaborates with design, construction, commissioning, facility engineering, and data center operations teams to support integration of new engineering design systems into existing data centers.
-Leads operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives.
-Ensures alignment of own work with safe working practices is maintained.
-Engages in cross-functional post-incident reviews for data center by conducting root cause analyses, synthesizing lessons learned, and executing Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs) to mitigate recurrence.
-Follows established emergency operations plans when responding to emergency incidents or abnormal events, escalating issues as needed.
Site Commissioning and Build:
-Prepares and reviews simple technical reports to document findings and support recommendations, communicating results within the team and contributing to stakeholder discussions.
-Establishes and ensures infrastructure maintenance schedule is followed.
-Maintains service documentation and reports and ensures logging of all maintenance activities.
-Participates in commissioning activities to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements.
Data Center Operations Management:
-Supports on-site data centers operations related to engineering infrastructure, identifying risks and gaps and troubleshooting as required.
-Participates in communications to ensure operational requirements and specifications are effectively flagged, raised, and addressed, demonstrating influence within broader teams.
-Adheres to developed standards and policy, analyzing documentation and participating in commissioning activities, design summits, and data center commissioning or reviews.
-Documents critical impacting changes and plays an active role in discussions at change advisory board (CAB) meetings.
Engineering Design, Leadership, and Governance:
-Collaborates with senior team members and supports a project or other design and engineering initiatives.
-Supports project team members in delivering specific aspects of data centers for Oracle by performing moderately complex tasks.
-Contributes to the development of policy documents by collaborating with team members, proposing minor changes for policy enhancement.
-Engages in the creation and upkeep of best-in-class policies and procedures.
-Helps prepare technical reports to document findings, communicate progress, and support project or design decision-making, synthesizing information from various sources for manager review.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
-Participates in training programs for newer members of the team.
-Provides tabletop exercises and scenario-based trainings to newer members of the team.
Additional Responsibilities (as needed)
Colocation Vendor Management:
-Provides advanced input for contract administration, including supporting the generation and review of contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other relevant documents to ensure effective management.
-Helps ensure adequate resources are available, such as spare parts, generator fuel, water, and consumables.
-Manages vendor and contractor scheduling and site access, contributing to the completion and execution of work to meet Oracle expectations.
