Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a FP&A Manager
Align your credentials to Accountant classification
TN status for FP&A Managers files under the Accountant category, so your degree must be in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. A general business degree without quantitative coursework can trigger a denial at the port of entry.
Target companies with recent visa filing experience
Search employer filing records to identify companies with recent visa sponsorship experience in finance roles. A track record of visa filings signals established visa processes and HR infrastructure, reducing the time between offer and your start date.
Distinguish FP&A duties from general management in your offer letter
CBP officers assess the offer letter, not your title. Make sure your letter specifies forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling duties, not supervisory or operational management tasks that fall outside the Accountant category.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers already set up for TN sponsorship
Search Migrate Mate to filter FP&A Manager openings by TN visa sponsorship availability. This cuts time spent cold-applying to employers who haven't sponsored before and have no filing infrastructure in place.
Prepare a credential evaluation before your border appointment
Mexican professionals with degrees from Mexican universities should carry a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized evaluator confirming U.S. equivalency. CBP officers at land ports are not equipped to assess foreign transcripts on the spot.
Clarify petition filing route with your employer early
Canadian citizens can enter at the port of entry with same-day TN approval, while Mexican nationals require a consular visa appointment. Confirm which route your employer's immigration process supports before signing an offer, since timelines differ by weeks.

Find FP&A Manager JobsFP&A Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an FP&A Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the role is filed under the Accountant TN category and your duties center on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting rather than general operational management. Your offer letter must clearly reflect accounting and finance work, and your degree should be in accounting, finance, or a directly related quantitative discipline. Roles with significant supervisory or non-financial management responsibilities create classification risk.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for FP&A Manager positions?
TN has no annual lottery and no numerical cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start working as soon as CBP approves your application at the port of entry, often the same day. H-1B requires a lottery selection that most applicants don't win in any given year, plus a months-long filing timeline. For FP&A Managers who meet the Accountant category criteria, TN is a faster and more predictable path.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must issue a detailed support letter on company letterhead that specifies your job title, a description of FP&A duties tied to the Accountant category, the intended work location, your compensation, and the employment period. For Mexican nationals, the employer must also support a USCIS petition before a consular interview. Canadian professionals can use the support letter directly at the port of entry without a prior USCIS filing.
How can I find FP&A Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists FP&A Manager openings filtered by employers with recent visa filings, so you're not spending time on companies unfamiliar with work visa sponsorship. Targeting employers experienced with visa sponsorship in finance roles substantially shortens the time from offer to TN approval at the port of entry or consulate.
Can I switch FP&A Manager employers while on TN status?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific, so you cannot start with a new employer until your new TN is approved. Canadian citizens can apply at the port of entry for a new TN before their first day with the new company. Mexican nationals need a new consular appointment and USCIS petition. You should plan the transition carefully so there's no gap where you're working without valid authorization for the new employer.
