Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Insurance Consultant
Frame your credentials around USMCA's Management Consultant category
Insurance Consultant is not a named TN category, so your degree and job offer must clearly map to Management Consultant. A transcript showing coursework in finance, business, or risk management strengthens your case at the port of entry.
Target insurers with dedicated compliance or global hiring teams
Carriers, brokerages, and third-party administrators that already employ international professionals are more likely to understand TN requirements and issue a proper support letter without needing to be educated on the process.
Confirm your offer letter specifies consulting duties explicitly
CBP officers review the job description on the spot. An offer letter that lists advisory, analytical, and client-facing consulting duties, rather than generic sales tasks, reduces the risk of a TN denial at the border.
Use Migrate Mate to find experienced visa sponsors
Search Migrate Mate to identify insurers and financial services firms with recent visa filings, so you're targeting companies already experienced with sponsoring work visas rather than introducing them to the process.
Understand Mexican nationals face a 5,500-per-year TN cap
Canadian professionals enter TN status at the port of entry with no cap. Mexican nationals must apply through a U.S. consulate and are subject to the annual 5,500 allocation, so applying early in the fiscal year reduces scheduling delays.
Ask your employer to prepare the support letter before your final interview
Many Insurance Consultant roles move quickly from offer to start date. Having the TN support letter drafted in advance means you can file at a Canadian port of entry or Mexican consulate without holding up your onboarding timeline.

Find Insurance Consultant JobsInsurance Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Insurance Consultant qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Insurance Consultant is not a separately listed TN category under USMCA, but it qualifies under the Management Consultant designation when the role involves analyzing risk exposure, advising clients on coverage strategies, and applying specialized business expertise. Your offer letter and credentials must clearly reflect those consulting duties, not primarily sales or account management functions.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Insurance Consultant roles?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start the process as soon as you have a qualifying offer. H-1B requires entering a random lottery in April and waiting until October to begin work if selected. For Insurance Consultants who qualify under Management Consultant, TN is a faster, more predictable path and can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments.
What documents does an employer need to sponsor a TN visa for this role?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead describing your consulting duties, the professional nature of the role, your qualifications, and the anticipated length of employment. You'll also need your degree transcripts and, if applicable, professional credentials. Canadian citizens present these documents directly to a CBP officer at a port of entry without a separate consular appointment.
Where can I find Insurance Consultant jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals searching for roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can filter by occupation and find employers who have already sponsored TN professionals, which significantly shortens the time between offer and filing. General job boards don't filter for sponsorship history or TN eligibility.
Can a Mexican national get TN sponsorship for an Insurance Consultant role?
Yes, but the process differs from Canada. Mexican nationals apply for TN status at a U.S. consulate rather than a port of entry, and the annual allocation of 5,500 TN visas for Mexican citizens means timing matters. Applying early in the U.S. fiscal year, which starts October 1, reduces the risk of delays caused by cap-related scheduling backlogs.
