Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Head Of Social
Verify your degree supports TN classification
TN visa eligibility depends on a direct match between your degree field and the Head of Social role. A degree in communications, marketing, or journalism strengthens your case. A general business degree alone may draw scrutiny from CBP officers.
Target companies experienced with visa sponsorship
Employers experienced with visa sponsorship already understand the work visa process and won't stall on paperwork. Ask recruiters directly whether their legal team has handled TN visa applications for marketing or communications roles specifically.
Frame your offer letter around specialty occupation language
Your job offer letter must describe duties that require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Vague titles like 'social media manager' without degree requirements in the description can trigger CBP questions. Work with your employer to tighten that language before you travel.
Search TN-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Identifying employers open to TN sponsorship for social leadership roles takes more than a keyword search. Migrate Mate filters jobs by TN visa compatibility, so you're only seeing companies already prepared to support your classification.
Prepare Canadian citizens for port-of-entry adjudication
If you're Canadian, CBP adjudicates your TN status on the spot at a land border or airport. Bring a complete packet: offer letter, credential evaluations, degree transcripts, and your resume. Missing documents can mean a same-day denial with no appeal option.
Understand how Mexican citizens navigate the consular path
Mexican nationals must apply at a U.S. consulate abroad rather than at the port of entry. Schedule your consular appointment as soon as you have a signed offer letter. Appointment availability varies significantly by location and season, so build lead time into your start date negotiations.
Head Of Social TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Head of Social role qualify for TN visa status?
It can, but TN classification isn't automatic for this title. CBP officers evaluate whether the specific duties require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as communications, marketing, or public relations. If your offer letter describes strategic, degree-dependent responsibilities rather than generalist social media tasks, the classification is defensible. Roles framed as purely execution-focused without a degree requirement are harder to approve.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start work as soon as CBP approves your status at the port of entry. H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-three chance of selection, and winners can't start until October 1 of that fiscal year. For a Head of Social role with an urgent start date, TN eliminates months of uncertainty that H-1B cannot.
Where can I find Head of Social jobs that already support TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Head of Social and senior social media leadership roles at employers who have indicated TN visa compatibility, so you're not cold-pitching companies on sponsorship during the interview process. Filtering by TN status upfront saves significant time and avoids late-stage offer complications.
Can I switch employers mid-year on a TN visa in a Head of Social role?
Yes. TN status is tied to a specific employer, so changing jobs requires your new employer to support a fresh TN application before your first day. Canadian citizens can get a new TN approved at the port of entry with a new offer letter. Mexican nationals need a new consular appointment. There is no USCIS transfer process like H-1B portability, so plan your transition timeline accordingly.
What documents does my employer need to sponsor my TN status?
Your employer must provide a detailed offer letter on company letterhead describing your title, duties, degree requirements, and employment terms. They don't file a petition with USCIS for Canadian applicants. For Mexican applicants, they may need to support a DS-160 and consular appointment. Some employers also provide a support letter from legal counsel, which can smooth CBP review for complex social leadership roles.
