Key Responsibilities:
The Data Center Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, modeling, and validating mechanical systems that support modern data-center deployments. This role requires deep proficiency in CAD modeling, strong understanding of new data-center construction, and hands-on experience with skidded and containerized mechanical power products. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, manufacturable, and reliable mechanical solutions that support high-density compute environments.
Mechanical Design & CAD Engineering:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for mechanical systems, assemblies, and infrastructure components used in data-center environments
- Create fabrication drawings, mechanical layouts, piping diagrams, and installation documentation for skidded and containerized systems
- Maintain design libraries, standards, and revision control for mechanical assets
- Perform tolerance analysis, fit-checks, and manufacturability reviews for complex assemblies
Data Center Construction & Infrastructure Engineering:
- Support mechanical design for new data-center builds, including cooling infrastructure, hydronic systems, equipment placement, and mechanical room layouts
- Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure designs meet site requirements, building codes, and operational standards
- Evaluate site conditions, climate considerations, and load requirements to ensure mechanical systems perform reliably and efficiently
Skidded & Containerized Product Development:
- Design and integrate mechanical systems for skidded cooling units, modular mechanical skids, and containerized data-center products
- Develop specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, filtration systems, manifolds, and structural components
- Ensure modular systems meet transport, installation, and commissioning requirements
- Work with manufacturing partners to validate assembly processes and quality standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with electrical, controls, structural, and product engineering teams to ensure cohesive system integration
- Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluations, and field validation activities
- Provide mechanical expertise to support product roadmaps, new feature development, and continuous improvement initiatives
Testing, Validation & Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct mechanical testing, flow analysis, and performance validation for cooling systems and modular products
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency across mechanical designs
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical issues in production or field deployments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data-center mechanical engineering, industrial mechanical systems, or mission-critical infrastructure
- Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor).
- Experience with skidded mechanical systems, modular infrastructure, or containerized data-center products
- Strong understanding of data-center construction practices, mechanical codes, and industry standards
- Knowledge of cooling systems, hydronic distribution, pumps, heat exchangers, and mechanical integration
Pay Range: USD $110,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with liquid-cooling systems (dry coolers, evaporative coolers, cooling towers, skids)
- Familiarity with CFD or thermal modeling tools.
- Experience working with fabrication shops, OEMs, or modular-construction vendors
- Ability to interpret structural drawings, electrical layouts, and controls schematics

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Platform Architect
Map your credentials to Computer Systems Analyst
TN visa approval for Platform Architect roles hinges on fitting the Computer Systems Analyst category. Document how your degree and work history directly support systems design and infrastructure planning, not just general IT management, before you apply.
Target employers with recent visa filings
Search employer visa filing records to find companies experienced with work visa sponsorship for technical roles. Employers familiar with visa sponsorship processes tend to move faster and are less likely to delay your offer over unfamiliar requirements.
Get your job offer letter written precisely
CBP officers evaluate your TN eligibility at the port of entry based largely on the offer letter. It must specify your title, describe duties that map to systems analysis and architecture, and confirm the role requires a relevant bachelor's degree or higher.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsoring employers
Finding Platform Architect roles where the employer understands TN sponsorship takes more than a keyword search. Migrate Mate filters jobs by TN visa sponsorship history so you spend time applying to roles where your status won't stall the process.
Clarify your status before switching employers
Your TN authorization is tied to a specific employer. If you accept a new Platform Architect role, your new employer must be named in a fresh TN approval before you start work. Don't assume your existing status carries over.
Prepare for consular processing if you hold Mexican citizenship
Mexican nationals cannot use the port-of-entry process available to Canadians. You'll need to schedule a consular interview and submit the DS-160 in advance. Build at least four to six weeks of lead time into your start date negotiation with the employer.
Platform Architect TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Platform Architect role qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, if the role centers on designing, planning, or analyzing computer systems and infrastructure. The TN visa covers the Computer Systems Analyst category under USMCA, and Platform Architect duties typically align with that definition. The job offer letter must describe your responsibilities in terms of systems analysis and design, not general management or sales, to satisfy CBP or consular review.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Platform Architects compare to H-1B?
TN visa sponsorship is faster and more predictable for Platform Architect roles. There is no lottery, no annual cap for Canadian citizens, and no multi-month USCIS adjudication. Canadian applicants can receive approval at a port of entry the same day. H-1B requires lottery selection, a formal petition process, and a wait until October 1 to begin work, which makes TN a stronger option for most qualified candidates.
What documents does your employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer needs to provide a detailed offer letter that states your job title, describes your duties in systems analysis and architecture terms, confirms you hold a qualifying degree, specifies your salary and employment period, and declares the position is not intended to be permanent. USCIS guidance outlines the substantive requirements for this letter, and CBP officers assess eligibility based on it at the border.
Where can I find Platform Architect jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to help Canadian and Mexican professionals find roles where employers already understand and support TN visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job listings and guessing at sponsorship willingness, you can search roles that are matched to TN-eligible categories like Computer Systems Analyst so your application targets the right opportunities from the start.
Can you hold a Platform Architect TN visa while pursuing permanent residency?
TN status does not allow dual intent, meaning you cannot simultaneously hold a TN visa and file for an immigrant visa or green card based on employment. If you or your employer begin the permanent residency process, you may need to transition to a visa category that permits dual intent, such as H-1B. Canadian and Mexican Platform Architects planning long-term U.S. residency should discuss this transition with a qualified immigration attorney early.
