About the role
The Head of Product Lines, Region North America is accountable for end-to-end Regional Product Line performance for our Major Appliances portfolio—Food Preservation, Food Preparation, and Care - with a clear focus on commercialization, profitable growth, and regional P&L ownership.
This role owns what is commercialized in North America - from consumer-backed roadmaps and generation plans through launch execution, lifecycle performance, and value realization. The Head of Product Lines converts market, consumer, and customer insights into clear portfolio priorities, product specifications, and business cases, ensuring products win in-market while staying aligned to global platforms and strategies.
As a member of the North America Executive Leadership Team, reporting to Head of Region North America, the Head of Product Lines is the accountable executive for regional product outcomes, driving speed, decision clarity, and cross-functional execution from strategy through in-market results.
What you’ll do
Own Regional Product Line Performance & P&L
- Lead Food Preservation, Food Preparation, and Care Regional Product Lines with full regional P&L accountability.
- Own commercial outcomes in-market, including growth, margin, mix, cost, and competitiveness.
- Drive portfolio trade-offs across brands, channels, price tiers, and features to optimize profitability and market impact.
Define Regional Product Roadmaps & Generation Plans
- Define and institutionalize a North America consumer-centric innovation and roadmap process (inputs, cadence, governance, and decision gates), producing 3–5 year generation plans grounded in consumer insight, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Translate insights into concrete regional product specification requirements, including features, performance, cost targets, and timing.
- Ensure alignment with Global Product Lines and partner effectively with the Food Preservation Selling Joint Venture to deliver an integrated, executable roadmap—while preserving regional relevance, speed, and accountability.
Own Business Cases & ROI Delivery
- Be accountable for delivering the committed return on investment, not just securing approval.
- Lead corrective actions when assumptions, cost, timing, or market performance are at risk.
Lead the Regional Innovation Triangle
- Drive structured innovation triangle discussions across Product, Commercial, and Consumer Insights.
- Identify region-specific unmet needs and differentiated propositions.
- Synthesize regional insights and feed them into the broader Product organization to inform prioritization and scalable innovation.
Shape Core Products & Complementary Value
- Select and prioritize digital, physical, and service complements to core products that should be developed, marketed, and monetized in North America.
- Ensure complements enhance consumer value, differentiation, and lifetime value.
- Partner with Digital, Technology, and Commercial teams to ensure complements are commercially viable and regionally relevant.
Drive Launch Excellence & In-Market Performance
- Own regional launch readiness and execution across Product, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams.
- Be accountable for in-market performance, including quality, reliability, warranty, and consumer ratings.
- Ensure closed-loop learning informs roadmap and lifecycle decisions.
Build and Lead the NA Product Organization
- Lead and develop the North America Product Line organization, including Regional Heads/VPs for each category.
- Lead a multi-layer regional product organization and operate through a tight stakeholder network across Global Product, Commercial/Sales/Marketing, Operations & Supply Chain, Quality, Digital/Technology, Finance, and the Food Preservation Selling Joint Venture.
- Establish clear decision rights and RACIs with Global Product and Functions to increase speed and eliminate duplication.
- Build strong succession and leadership pipelines for critical product roles.
- Accountable for market, commercial, and financial performance.
What success looks like in the first 12–18 months
- Stand up a repeatable, consumer-centric innovation and roadmap operating model for North America (insights-to-specs, prioritization, business cases, and launch commitments).
- Align NA roadmaps with global platforms and architectures while improving regional speed-to-market and decision clarity (RACI).
- Build a one-roadmap partnership with the Food Preservation Selling Joint Venture, with clear interfaces, shared priorities, and escalation paths.
- Improve portfolio profitability through disciplined trade-offs (mix, pricing, cost targets, SKU rationalization where needed) and stronger value realization.
- Increase launch excellence and closed-loop learning, using in-market performance (quality, ratings, warranty, service insights) to refine roadmap and lifecycle decisions.
- Strengthen the NA product leadership bench and succession pipeline across categories.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Senior product leader with 15+ years of experience in product line, category, or portfolio leadership within durable goods or complex consumer products.
- Proven owner of regional product P&L and commercial outcomes preferably in a matrixed, global organization.
- Strong track record balancing consumer relevance, cost competitiveness, and execution discipline.
- Comfortable making trade-offs, setting priorities, and driving accountability close to the market.
- A collaborative, decisive leader with the ability to influence executive levels and build high-performing teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Head Of Product
Frame your credentials around TN categories
Head of Product doesn't map to a single TN occupation. Package your degree and job description to fit Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer categories. A mismatch between your credential and the offered role title is the most common denial trigger.
Target companies with established engineering orgs
U.S. employers with dedicated engineering and product teams are already familiar with technical visa classifications. Smaller startups may not know how to scope a Head of Product role to satisfy TN specialty occupation requirements, creating delays at the offer stage.
Get your job offer letter technically precise
The offer letter must describe duties in systems analysis or engineering terms, not just business outcomes. Phrases like 'define product roadmap' need to be anchored to technical deliverables. CBP officers evaluate the letter against the TN occupation list at the port of entry.
Secure your Canadian credential recognition early
Canadian applicants entering at the border have their credentials reviewed on the spot. If your degree is from a non-Canadian institution, bring a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved body. Gaps in educational documentation cause same-day refusals with no immediate recourse.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers already sponsoring TN roles
Searching for employers who have filed TN-compatible technical roles saves weeks of outreach. Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship history, so you're applying to companies that already understand the TN process for product and engineering positions.
Understand Mexican applicants' consular appointment requirements
Unlike Canadians, Mexican citizens must obtain a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate, not at the border. Schedule your USCIS-fee-paid consular appointment well before your intended start date, as processing times at Ciudad Juárez and Monterrey fluctuate significantly.

Find Head Of Product JobsHead Of Product TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Head of Product role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is defined. Head of Product doesn't appear as a standalone TN occupation. To qualify, your employer must scope the position under a recognized TN category such as Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer, supported by duties that are primarily technical. Roles focused purely on business strategy without a systems or engineering component are harder to fit within TN requirements.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Head of Product roles?
TN has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadians, making it far more predictable than H-1B. You can start work as soon as CBP approves you at the port of entry, versus waiting months for an H-1B petition cycle. The tradeoff is that TN requires continuous employer sponsorship and doesn't provide a direct path to permanent residence. H-1B offers more occupational flexibility and dual intent.
What documents does a Canadian Head of Product need at the border for TN entry?
You'll need a detailed employer offer letter, your academic credentials matching a qualifying TN occupation, proof of Canadian citizenship, and evidence you'll perform the stated duties. The offer letter is the document CBP scrutinizes most closely. It should describe technical responsibilities explicitly. A vague or business-only job description is a common cause of same-day denials for product leadership roles.
Where can I find Head of Product jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can filter by job title and sponsorship type, so you're only seeing employers who have already indicated willingness to support TN applicants for technical and product roles. This avoids spending time on applications where you'd have to educate the employer about TN from scratch.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN sponsorship for a Head of Product role?
Yes, but the process differs from the Canadian pathway. Mexican citizens must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate and are subject to a limited annual allocation, unlike Canadians who have no cap. Your employer provides the same supporting documentation, but you'll attend a consular interview and wait for visa issuance before starting work. Plan for consulate scheduling timelines that can run several weeks.
