Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a VP Of AI
Align your credentials to Systems Analyst duties
TN approval depends on your job duties matching a qualifying occupation, not just your title. Document how your role involves designing, developing, or implementing AI systems rather than executive oversight. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field strengthens your case significantly.
Target companies with recent visa filing history
Employers with recent visa filings for Systems Analyst or Computer Systems Analyst roles have demonstrated experience with work visa sponsorship. Prioritize AI-focused firms and enterprise tech companies with established immigration programs, as they can draft a qualifying support letter faster and more accurately.
Request a detailed offer letter before crossing the border
Canadian applicants present their support letter directly to CBP at a port of entry. The letter must describe your specific AI systems responsibilities, your credentials, and the TN occupational category. Vague executive language in the offer letter is the most common reason CBP officers request additional review.
Confirm your Mexican TN is processed at a U.S. consulate
Mexican nationals cannot apply for TN status at the border the way Canadians can. You must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate in Mexico and obtain a TN visa stamp before traveling. Build at least four to eight weeks into your timeline for consular scheduling and processing.
Search for VP of AI roles using Migrate Mate
Filter for VP of AI and senior AI leadership positions where employers explicitly support TN visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to TN-eligible occupational categories, so you spend less time screening out employers unfamiliar with the visa classification.
Prepare for TN renewal before your status expires
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments with no cap on renewals, but each renewal requires a fresh support letter confirming your role still qualifies. If your responsibilities have shifted toward general executive management, work with your employer's immigration contact to reframe the duties letter before filing.

Find VP Of AI JobsVP Of AI TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a VP of AI title qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
The TN visa does not have a category called 'VP of AI,' but many VP of AI roles qualify under the Computer Systems Analyst occupation if your duties center on designing, analyzing, and implementing AI systems. The title alone is not determinative. CBP evaluates the actual job duties described in your employer's support letter, so the framing of your responsibilities matters more than your job title.
How does TN compare to H-1B for a VP of AI role?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can pursue a VP of AI role without waiting for a selection cycle. H-1B requires registration, a lottery draw, and cap-subject processing that can delay your start date by six months or more. The tradeoff is that TN is a treaty status requiring ongoing employment in a qualifying occupation, while H-1B offers a broader range of covered roles and a clearer path toward permanent residence.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a support letter on company letterhead that specifies your job title, a description of your AI systems duties, your credentials, the TN occupational category you are entering under, and the terms of employment. For Canadian applicants, this letter is presented to CBP at the border. For Mexican applicants, it accompanies the DS-160 application and is reviewed at the consular interview.
Where can I find VP of AI jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can search VP of AI and senior AI leadership positions filtered to employers who already support TN status, so you avoid spending time on roles where the employer is unfamiliar with the visa classification or unwilling to prepare the required documentation.
Can I switch employers while on TN status as a VP of AI?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. If you change companies, you must obtain new TN authorization for the new employer before starting work. Canadian citizens can apply at a port of entry with a new support letter from the incoming employer. Mexican nationals must return to a U.S. consulate for a new TN visa stamp. There is no grace period that allows you to begin work with the new employer before receiving authorization.
