Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Security Manager
Align your credentials to USMCA categories
Security Manager doesn't appear verbatim in the TN occupation list. Frame your role around Management Consultant or another qualifying category by documenting how your duties involve advisory, analytical, or program-level security work, not line supervision alone.
Target employers with physical security infrastructure
Corporate campuses, healthcare networks, logistics hubs, and financial institutions regularly hire Security Managers with complex compliance needs. These employers understand regulatory obligations that make TN sponsorship a straightforward business decision for them.
Request a detailed offer letter covering USMCA requirements
Your offer letter must specify your title, duties, and the professional nature of the role. CBP officers at the border review this document directly, so vague language about 'overseeing security staff' without strategic or advisory framing increases denial risk.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers already sponsoring TN roles
Search Migrate Mate to identify U.S. employers actively hiring professionals under TN visa sponsorship. Filtering by role type saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-contacting HR teams unfamiliar with USMCA professional categories.
Prepare documentation for Canadian border entries
Canadians don't need a visa stamp and can apply for TN status directly at a port of entry. Bring your offer letter, proof of Canadian citizenship, and credentials supporting your professional classification. CBP adjudicates on the spot.
Distinguish your role from general management in applications
USCIS and CBP scrutinize Security Manager petitions where duties overlap with general operations management. Emphasize certifications like CPP or CISSP and frame responsibilities around risk analysis, security policy development, and organizational advisory functions.

Find Security Manager JobsSecurity Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Security Manager qualify for TN visa status?
Security Manager isn't a named TN occupation, but the role can qualify under the Management Consultant category when the position primarily involves security program design, risk assessment, or compliance advisory work rather than routine supervision. Your job offer letter and supporting credentials must clearly reflect that professional, analytical scope to satisfy CBP or USCIS review.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Security Manager roles?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, meaning you can start work as soon as CBP approves your application at the border. H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance, a lottery selection, and a lengthy USCIS petition process. For Security Managers with a concrete job offer, TN is faster and more predictable, though it requires active employment and cannot be held in reserve.
What documents does a Security Manager need for TN visa sponsorship?
You'll need a detailed offer letter from your U.S. employer describing your title, duties, and compensation, proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and credentials demonstrating professional-level qualifications in security management. Relevant certifications such as CPP, CISSP, or a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field strengthen your classification argument significantly.
Where can Security Managers find employers that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface U.S. employers hiring under TN visa sponsorship, which removes the guesswork of identifying companies already familiar with USMCA professional categories. Because Security Manager is an atypical TN classification, targeting employers experienced with treaty-based sponsorship reduces the risk of encountering HR teams who decline before fully reviewing the category.
Can Mexican Security Managers use TN the same way Canadians can?
Mexican citizens qualify for TN status but must apply through a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at a port of entry. The occupational requirements and documentation standards are identical, but the process takes longer due to consular scheduling. Mexico also has an annual TN allocation, so processing volume and wait times can vary across the fiscal year.
