Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Graduate
Verify your degree matches the role
TN classification requires your degree field to directly support the job duties. A general business degree won't support a graduate engineering analyst role. Check that your transcript and diploma explicitly name the qualifying discipline before applying.
Target employers with established TN processes
Graduate employers who have hired TN workers before move faster and make fewer errors in the offer letter. Ask recruiters during interviews whether they've sponsored TN visas and whether legal counsel is already retained for the process.
Get your offer letter TN-ready before starting
Your offer letter must state your job title, qualifying TN category, degree requirement, and start date. A letter missing any of these elements can result in a CBP denial at the border, even if you're otherwise fully qualified.
Search Graduate TN jobs through Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Graduate roles by TN visa sponsorship availability, so you're only seeing employers already open to USMCA professionals. Search by role and location to find active listings matched to your credentials.
Prepare supporting documents for Mexican applicants
If you're a Mexican citizen, your TN visa application goes through a U.S. consulate and requires DS-160 completion, an MRV fee payment, and a scheduled interview. Gather your degree credentials, job offer, and employer support letter well before your appointment date.

Find Graduate JobsGraduate TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Graduate roles actually qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, provided the Graduate role falls under a recognized TN occupational category such as engineer, accountant, computer systems analyst, or scientist, and requires a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Generalist graduate program roles that accept any degree field often don't qualify, so the specific job duties and degree requirement matter more than the job title alone.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Graduate positions?
The TN visa has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadian citizens, making it far more predictable for Graduate hiring than the H-1B. Mexican citizens face a 5,400-visa annual limit, but processing still goes through consular channels rather than a random lottery. The trade-off is that TN is non-immigrant by design, so it doesn't build toward a green card the way an approved H-1B petition can.
Can I switch Graduate employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you need a new TN authorization tied to the new employer before you start working. Canadians can obtain this at a port of entry with a new offer letter; Mexican citizens need to return to a U.S. consulate. Working for a new employer before the new TN is granted is a status violation, so plan the transition carefully with both employers aware of the timeline.
Where can I find Graduate jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It filters Graduate roles specifically by TN visa sponsorship availability, so you're not cold-applying to employers who haven't considered USMCA hiring before. This cuts down on time spent educating recruiters and increases your chances of reaching employers with an established TN process already in place.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed offer letter that includes your job title, the specific TN professional category your role falls under, a statement that the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, your anticipated start date, and the duration of employment. Mexican applicants also need employer support documentation for the consular interview. A letter missing the TN category or degree requirement language is a common reason for denial.
