TN Visa Technology Partner Manager Jobs
Technology Partner Manager roles qualify for TN visa sponsorship under the USMCA's Computer Systems Analyst category when the position centers on technical integration, systems coordination, or technology consulting. Canadian citizens can apply at the border with no cap; Mexican citizens go through consular processing. A degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field supports the classification.

About the Role
Financial Technology Partners is a leading fintech-focused investment bank headquartered in San Francisco. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in a high-impact role with broad ownership across compensation accounting, budgeting, general ledger management, and month-end close. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance and offers meaningful exposure to the full scope of firm operations, including our UK entity. We are a team that embraces technology and expects our people to as well.
Responsibilities
Compensation Accounting
- Support the annual compensation budgeting process, including bonus memo preparation for deal-team and support staff.
- Reconcile compensation-related liability and benefit accounts and ensure accuracy and consistency across a complex compensation structure typical of an active advisory practice.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the firm's annual operating budget, including departmental expense budgets and headcount-driven cost projections.
- Support monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis, prepare variance commentary for leadership review, and maintain rolling forecast models that reflect current business activity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with department heads to gather inputs and ensure budget assumptions are well-documented and supportable.
Month-End Close & General Ledger
- Own key components of the monthly close process, including intercompany entries, prepaid and fixed asset schedules, lease amortization under ASC 842, bank and credit card reconciliations, and business tax accruals.
- Support UK VAT filing obligations in coordination with external advisors, providing exposure to multi-jurisdictional accounting.
Audit & Compliance
- Maintain audit-ready workpapers on an ongoing basis and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audit cycles, with a focus on compensation, budgeting, and assigned GL areas.
- Uphold the documentation and control standards expected in a regulated financial services environment.
Qualifications
- CPA required
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firm background preferred
- Strong command of US GAAP, with emphasis on general ledger, budgeting, and accrual accounting
- Experience supporting annual budget preparation and monthly variance analysis in a professional services or financial services environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and complex formula construction
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Campfire, or comparable platforms; familiarity with Campfire a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in a professional accounting or finance context — required; we are an AI-forward team and expect our people to actively leverage these tools in their day-to-day work
- Exposure to international accounting, multi-entity structures, or VAT filings a plus
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently in a deadline-driven environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100K–$120K, commensurate with experience
- Performance-based bonus eligibility
- Unlimited PTO
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401K contributions/matching program
- Hybrid work arrangement based in San Francisco

Align your degree to the technical requirements
TN visa classification for this role depends on a Computer Systems Analyst match. A degree in business alone won't hold up. Your transcript must reflect coursework in computer science, information systems, or engineering to support the specialty occupation argument.
Build a job duties letter that proves technical depth
Ask your employer to document that the role involves systems integration, technical vendor coordination, or solution architecture, not just relationship management. Officers deny TN petitions when the duties read as sales or account management rather than technical consulting.
Target companies with recent visa filing experience
Employers with recent visa filings for similar roles are experienced with work visa sponsorship and can move faster through the TN process. Look for companies that have sponsored H-1B visa, E-3 visa, or Green Card positions—this experience demonstrates familiarity with visa requirements and employer obligations, which translates to smoother TN sponsorships at the port of entry or consulate.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready employers
Many job listings don't mention visa sponsorship at all, making it hard to know who will actually sponsor. Use Migrate Mate to filter Technology Partner Manager roles by employers with recent visa filings so you're applying to companies already experienced with the sponsorship process.
Prepare a detailed offer letter before your border crossing
Canadian citizens can get TN status at a port of entry, but the officer needs a complete offer letter covering job title, duties, salary, and duration. Vague letters are the most common reason for same-day denials. Confirm every required element with your employer before you travel.
Understand how extensions work before accepting an offer
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no statutory limit on renewals, but each extension requires your employer to re-certify the role. Confirm the employer is willing to support repeated filings before you commit, especially if the role could evolve away from technical duties.
Technology Partner Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Technology Partner Manager role qualify for a TN visa?
It can, but the classification depends on how the role is defined. TN visas don't have a dedicated Technology Partner Manager category. The role must fit the Computer Systems Analyst classification, which means the job duties need to center on technical systems analysis, integration oversight, or technology consulting, not primarily on sales, account management, or relationship building. The offer letter your employer provides is critical to making that case.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for this role?
For Technology Partner Manager positions, TN has a significant structural advantage: there's no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and no multi-month wait for USCIS adjudication. H-1B selection is random and limited to 85,000 slots per fiscal year, meaning a qualified candidate can be denied simply due to chance. TN also processes faster, often at the port of entry for Canadians or through a consulate for Mexicans, compared to months of USCIS processing for H-1B petitions.
Where can I find Technology Partner Manager jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. Most general job boards don't filter by TN eligibility or sponsorship history, so you end up applying to roles where the employer has never navigated the process. Migrate Mate surfaces Technology Partner Manager listings from employers with documented TN sponsorship activity, which means less time on dead-end applications.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN status for a Technology Partner Manager role?
Yes, but the process differs from what Canadian citizens experience. Mexican nationals must apply through a U.S. consulate and obtain a TN visa stamp before entering the country, unlike Canadians who can be approved at a port of entry. The qualifying documentation is the same, including proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship, an employer offer letter, and evidence that your degree matches the Computer Systems Analyst category. Processing timelines depend on consulate appointment availability.
What happens to my TN status if my employer restructures or my role changes?
TN status is tied to the specific employer and the specific role described in your approval. If your employer restructures and your title or duties shift significantly, especially away from technical functions toward general management, your current TN may no longer accurately reflect your status. You'd need to file an updated TN application reflecting the new role. A change of employer always requires a new TN filing before you start work with the new company.
