Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Product Consultant
Frame your credentials around management consulting
Product Consultant roles qualify under the TN Management Consultant category, not a generic technology classification. Your resume and degree must visibly connect to organizational decision-making and advisory work, not just product development or engineering execution.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Companies that have filed work visa petitions for similar consulting roles understand visa sponsorship processes and likely have the infrastructure to support TN visa applications. Focusing on employers with recent visa filings helps identify organizations experienced with sponsoring international talent for professional roles like yours.
Resolve your offer letter's scope language before crossing the border
CBP officers assess your TN eligibility at the port of entry based on your offer letter. Vague scope language like 'product support' rather than 'management consulting services' creates real denial risk. Get the letter revised before you travel, not after.
Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by sponsorship history
Searching broadly wastes time on employers who won't sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces Product Consultant roles from companies with active TN and H-1B sponsorship history, so you're applying to employers already set up to file on your behalf.
Prepare a credential evaluation if your degree is non-U.S.
A Canadian or Mexican degree in business administration or engineering typically satisfies the TN requirement, but CBP officers may request documentation of equivalency. Having a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization ready prevents delays at the port of entry.
Ask your employer about Canadian versus Mexican processing differences
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry on the day of travel. Mexican nationals must apply through a U.S. consulate and schedule an appointment in advance. Confirm your employer's filing timeline accounts for the correct process for your nationality.

Find Product Consultant JobsProduct Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Product Consultant role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if the role is structured around advisory and consulting services rather than purely technical execution. USCIS and CBP classify qualifying TN roles under the Management Consultant category. Your offer letter must describe duties that align with organizational analysis, strategy, or process improvement, not just product feature work or software support.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Product Consultants compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so employers can sponsor you at any point in the year and you can start work immediately upon approval at the port of entry. H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate and a mandatory October 1 start date. For Product Consultants whose roles fit the Management Consultant category, TN is typically faster and more predictable than H-1B.
Where can I find Product Consultant jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking TN-eligible roles. It filters Product Consultant listings by employer sponsorship history so you're not spending time on companies that won't file. Applying through a targeted list of sponsorship-ready employers shortens the job search considerably.
Can I switch employers while on TN status as a Product Consultant?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to your current employer and approved role. Before you start with a new company, that employer must sponsor a new TN petition or you must obtain new TN status at a port of entry or consulate. Working for a new employer without completing this step puts you out of status.
What happens if CBP denies my TN application at the border?
If a CBP officer determines your Product Consultant role doesn't qualify under the Management Consultant category, you can be denied entry and required to return to Canada or Mexico. You can reapply with a revised offer letter that more clearly describes consulting duties, or your employer can file Form I-129 with USCIS for advance approval before your next travel attempt.
