Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Poker Dealer
Frame your credentials as specialty occupation
TN eligibility for Poker Dealer roles depends on how the position is documented. Get a letter from your employer specifying professional-level duties, your relevant training, and why the role requires specialized knowledge beyond general dealing experience.
Target tribal casinos and gaming corporations
Tribal gaming operations and large commercial casino groups have established HR and legal infrastructure for sponsoring work visas. Smaller independent card rooms rarely have TN filing experience, which slows your offer-to-start timeline significantly.
Verify the employer sponsors work visas
Before accepting any offer, confirm your prospective employer is experienced with visa sponsorship and understands the TN visa process. For Canadian citizens, your employer should prepare a support letter for your port of entry presentation. For Mexican citizens, your employer should be ready to support your consulate application. Look for employers with recent visa filings—this demonstrates they have hands-on experience navigating work visa sponsorship and understand the requirements for your role.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify gaming employers with active TN and work visa sponsorship history. Leading with verified sponsorship data cuts out the back-and-forth of asking HR cold whether they sponsor international workers in this role.
Prepare for port-of-entry TN processing as a Canadian
Canadian citizens can apply for TN status directly at a U.S. land border or pre-clearance airport without a visa appointment. Bring your job offer letter, employer support letter, and documentation of your gaming credentials or training to present to CBP.
Understand Mexican TN allocation before accepting a timeline
Mexican citizens require a TN visa stamp from a U.S. consulate and are subject to an annual numerical limit. Build consular appointment lead time into your start date negotiation so your employer understands the realistic timeline from offer to first day.

Find Poker Dealer JobsPoker Dealer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Poker Dealer job qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is defined. TN classification requires the position to meet specialty occupation criteria under USMCA. A Poker Dealer role structured around professional gaming knowledge, supervisory responsibility, or training functions has a stronger case than a purely entry-level dealing position. Your employer's offer letter is what CBP or the consulate will evaluate, along with supporting documentation demonstrating the role's complexity and your qualifications.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Poker Dealers compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you're not gambling on a random selection to start working. H-1B requires USCIS petition approval and is subject to the 85,000-slot annual cap with a lottery. TN can also be processed at a U.S. port of entry for Canadians, making the timeline from signed offer to first day significantly shorter than a standard H-1B filing cycle.
What documents does my employer need to sponsor my TN visa?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter specifying your job title, duties, anticipated length of employment, and your professional qualifications. For Canadians, that support letter travels with you to your CBP interview at the U.S. border or port of entry. For Mexican nationals, you'll need to apply at a U.S. consulate with the support letter, a DS-160, and your appointment confirmation.
Where can I find Poker Dealer jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international professionals seeking U.S. jobs with visa sponsorship. You can search for Poker Dealer roles filtered by employers who have a history of sponsoring TN and other work visas, which saves you from applying to positions where HR has no process in place for international candidates.
Can I switch Poker Dealer employers while on a TN visa?
Yes, but your TN authorization is tied to your specific employer and role. If you change jobs, your new employer must prepare a support letter and you'll need to apply for a new TN at the U.S. border or consulate depending on your citizenship. You cannot simply transfer your existing TN to a new casino. Plan your transition carefully to avoid working without valid status between employers.
